Care to provide the links that say it was "proven" false? MS has sold 10mil units to retailers, those are the official numbers from their records. Where are the other numbers coming from?

 

Sold to retailers, not consumers. 


you do realise that as a wholesale supplier of consoles, MS are 'meant' to sell to retailers, just as sony and nintendo do. They only cast iron gaurantee of retail sales is to collect retail sales data, which is the personal and private concern of the retailer. Not even a stock holder can demand to know the sales data of an individual item without a damn good reason to the board.

Yeah but Ninty gives out sold to consumers, they even said this back at the beginning of the year differentiating between how much was sold to consumers vs. how much was shipped

VG Charts go off actual console sales based off of the NDP, Japanese sales tracking, and European sales tracking systems.  Unlike every other fanboy site out there VG charts is actually ACCURATE.  If you can't see that they are the most accurate site on the web then you are a blatent fanboy.  Quite simply THEIR NUMBERS ARE BASED OFF PROVEN NUMBERS.  That cannot be said for every other site out on the web.

U realize the PS3 had to sell twice as much as the 360 did( not 10,000 units) to catch up......while the wii to be there by June at the earliest. So yeah, and they fact that bout 3 million units are unsold worldwide....it's a flop so far.

Well vgcharts has it listed as 10 million (close enough) so yea your right.  But it has JUST reached 10 million.

If vgcharts isn't accurate, what makes you and other ppl think that nextgenwars.com is so right?? If Vgcahrts is in fact right, I wouldn't be surprised if ms didn't reach their expected 10mil sold consols by the time the PS3 and the Wii came out.

ok...we all kno that Ms didnt sell 10 million by the time those consoles came out, we kno it didnt on jan. 1......but to say that it hasnt at this point is fanboyism.....

The 360 hasn't sold 10,000,000 yet due to horrible sales in Japan. Great sales in US...

The Wii has sold 6.5 million. Great sales worldwide

The PS3 has sold 3,000,000 . Not outstanding, but good for a $600 console.

i think it's possible as you see many 360's on the shelves. even if micro had shipped 12 mil. the ones on the shelves would indicate that there would be about 10 or less mil sold

Just recently visted http://vgcharts.org/ and notice they updated all the console sales, yet showed the 360 has yet to break the 10 million mark. Is this possible? Is vgcharts why off on this one? What do you think?-Sir-Poof-
If you believe them then also read the national enquirer and US weekly since they all report NOTHING but the facts.
