wow no just no last year mass effect is the only RPG that was actually any good, i don't really think of oblivion as an RPG more of a hack and slash with speech, and as for that "lineup" it doesn't take an amazing person to see that most if not all of it will be complete crapgame_fanatic

I personally enjoyed Eternal SOnata, Blue Dragon and Two Worlds a lot. And I'm very much looking forward to Infinite Undiscovery, Lost Odyssey and Cry On. You're not much of an RPG fan if these titles don't at least pique your curiosity.

Constant highscores and popularity mean a great game to a great amount of people = better then 120k sold of a decent JRPG like Eternal Sonata.

It's not that the 360's list is bad -- it's just that no ones going to buy alot of it, despite good scores.

Eternal Sonata got good scores, I think you mean overlooked. Actually, it was overlooked because the 360 demographic could care less about it. You make a Halo RPG and then you're in business.

Not only that but a fair share amount of the games on "This Year's List" aren't even confirmed for this year.

The WRPG genre especially has been very strong on the 360 (Mass Effect, Oblivion, a few others were highly praised too).

The JRPG genre is mainly quantity over quality atm. I expected more from Mistwalker and am no longer interested in their titles. ASH looked so good too at first...

First of all the 360 right now has 3 legit good rpgs

Mass Effect- IMO its the best its got
Oblivion- Dumbed down and morrowind was better, but yes its a good game, but Marrowind was so much better, this game SUCKS.
Eternal Sonota- Really, really underrated, its charming, fun battle system, some more mature themes in a nice fluffy jrpg coating, its really good so stop hating haters.

As for a love it/hate it Blue Dragon falls under that as some rpg gamers have actually enjoyed it, i think its a pile of crap.

Also next year looks really good.

Lost Odyssey- more attention to story, a bit problem in blue dragon
Infinite Undiscoverey- Square produced it, and its a tri ace game, there good.
Cry on- Sakaguchi wants to make you cry, the last time i remember he said something along the lines of making people feel emotionshe wanted to tell a love story, and that was FF8 which oh by the way was pretty good.
Fable 2- Fable 1 was good, and i expect Fable 2 to be really good.
Last Remnant is multiplat but i think square might make a good game out of this
Tales of Vesparia- Tales is really good.

SO this idea that 360 is lackluster in rpgs, might come to an end.

However nothing on that list outside of Mass Effect which is allready out is really going to be a superb game IMO.

The main Dragon Quest series releases are very spread out, maybe that's the reason why it's sales are so insane in Japan when it's released. Anyway, that's why people were so shocked to see the franchise jump back to Nintendo.

I expect to see Dragon Quest IX out next year on the DS and Dragon Quest X out for the Wii near the end of it's life span.
