It looks better because it's on a better system...Read the article from the developer.Funny...when Oblivion came out for the 360 the majority of the cows claimed it was a crap game. Now that they are getting it all of a sudden it is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Gotta love system wars.
BTW, I would hope it would look better...extra dev time and all.

And a year longer to make it look better. and a more powerful system.

We know the game comes a year Later.
But since when Does that prove they've been developing the PS3 version for a Year
Shack: Can you offer any insight into how much of that was made possible by the PS3 hardware versus simply the additional development time?Owned. So like I said earlier, the only different was the loading times, and that was because Oblivion installs 5GB of data on your HDD
Pete Hines: It was entirely due to extra development time. It's not like the PS3 can do this and the others can't, it's actually something we were considering doing for the other platforms as well. We specifically did it here because we had some time and one of our graphics programmers said he could do it. Things like that are in the PS3 version, but everything else is just things that make the game load faster and run faster, so it runs as well if not better than the PC or 360 version. That was our goal all along. We felt like we were going to take however long it took until the PS3 version looked and played as well as it could.

They would have released it at launch like planned if they weren't still working on it.It's definitly worth waiting a year for a game so you can see some more rocks and trees...BonesNFGAnd have to wait to get some of our DLC. And like Bethesda said, all that could be done on the 360, and there will be a graphical update (the PC doesn't even need it  )

Extra development on PS3 Vs 360 is pretty much null when you consider you'd need extra time to do what you did on 360 on PS3
HEY LEMMINGS! THERE WERE UPGRADES TO PS3's OBLIVION THAT TOOK ADVANTAGE OF, AND OPTIMIZED PS3's HARDWARE. MEANING, YOU WILL NEVER SEE THESE UPGRADES.
THE EXTRA DEVELOPMENT TIME ATTRIBUTED LARGELY TO A NEW SHADER CODE, WHICH THE 360 WILL RECEIVE, BUT THAT WILL NOT MAKE YOUR VERSION LOOK BETTER. IT MAKES FAR DISTANCED TEXTURES CLEANER AND CLEARER. SO WHY DO THE SHORT, CLOSE PROXIMITY TEXTURES LOOK BETTER ON THE PS3?
NOW I REPEAT THE SHADER CODE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH FASTER LOAD TIMES. THATS BECAUSE ALL PS3's HAVE A HARD DRIVE. THE SMOOTHER FRAME RATES COME FROM THE CELL PROCESSOR. THE SMOOTHER TEXTURING COMES FROM PS3's SUPERIOR RAM CHIPS.
