I do remember ol' Pete saying and bragging about hitting 10mil by christmas '06.

However MS considers shipped unit sold. Since most retailers and distributors are not allowed or guaranteed credit for unsold units. They're as good as sold if they can't be returned by the stores.

your right ms claimed to have 10 milion sold but iit was to retailers. 6 months later they claimed 11.6. they did have spike in sales since halo but the 360 needs world wide support. this thread is proof that the 360 needs worldwide support.

Also the holiday season hasn't even started yet and the Xbox 360 is outselling the PS3 3-1 world wide. So yeah...but nice try.BreakingPoint8

Well, Kaz Hirai said he planned on the PS3 selling 11m by the end of this year. .... So yeah. All these companies make silly claims.

While it's not impossible for the PS3 to sell that many units, its not very likely either. but so far, the PS3 has been keeping pace with the 360 pretty well, and even outselling it worldwide, up 'till Halo 3 released. But I have a feeling that will be fixed by the time the prices drop, and the new controllers come out. Just a feeling, not a prediction.

I am willing to bet that the 360 is going to hit 13 million by the end of this year, but if it can't reach beyond that then the console has very little hope with it's biggest game already released, while the PS3 and Wii still are not going to have their big guns out until starting next month with Super Mario Galaxy and Rachet & Clank on the 30th of this month, and that is justthe tip of the iceberg, wait until Mario Kart, Gran Turismo 5, GTA4 and Super Smash Bros Brawl all start hitting the market in the next 6 months, as well as 3rd partytitles like Metal Gear Solid 4, No More Heroes, Manhunt 2, Guitar Hero 3 etc.DSgamer64

Yeah, the 360 has very few games going for it in 2008, but they are not system sellers, except for maybe NG2, and when you put it up against the PS3's line up for 08, you will see that the 360 almost has nothing. You can't count the Multiplats my friend because if anything the choice is obvious on what console to buy for multiplat games. The PS3 doesn't have any hardware problems and the multiplats are pretty much the same nowadays and will get better in the future, so why would you pick up a 360 to play these multiplats where you can pick up a PS3 for about the same price (399) and have a reliable console, Play GT5 MGS4 KillZone LittleBigPlanet FF13 + the Multiplats. I am sorry but I am expecting a pretty bad future for the 360 if M$ does not solve those hardware problems.
