[QUOTE="MikeE21286"][QUOTE="Pimpshigity21"][QUOTE="MikeE21286"][QUOTE="Pimpshigity21"]The PS3 hyped launch vs. 2nd year of business as usual.
People bought the system because they believed the promises...but now many gamers are realizing that the promises were all a bunch of lies and exagerations.
I wish there was some way to track one statistic that really matters: how many people have traded in their PS3 for a 360.
We'll see how the number look after the holiday season is over. If sales don't improve much even after the price cut, I don't think that even FF and MGS4 will save the PS3.

This theory would hold water if the PS3 didn't outsell the 360 in July and August
Wasn't that the time that Sony reduced the price of the PS3?
And back then the slew of Sony flops had not been released yet.
Your post looks at number from the whole year...at the beginning of the year, and during the European launch, people still believed the Sony hype.
If people believed that PS3 was "all hype" then why would they by it (price drop or not).
Because back then people did not know that all the glorious games that Sony had promised to deliver would turn out to be total duds.
I guess you believe that the new SKU and price are an indication that the PS3 is doing just dandy.
Sony is not making such a drastic move out of the kindness of thier hearts, you know.
"Total duds", eh? You've obviously never played Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, or Resistance then? Poor lem :(
