why do most ppl say that the ps3 cost more than the 360? it doesnt if you add everything up. you dont even get hd movies out of the box with the 360 and when you go buy the attatch ment for it the 360 cost $600 and the hard drive is a third of the size and you have to pay for the online it isnt even free. so dont say the ps3 is more expenssive than the 360  b/c it is not. so go with the ps3!!!!!!!! jason13253

What you do need in order to take advantage of the PS3 forced bluray drive is a pricey HDTV.

-wanna watch hi-def movies and use ur console for other multimedia

-plus u already own a psp and dream of remote play one day

-several ps2 games (but no ps2 'cause we all know about the dreaded DRE or ur lil' bro nicked it)

-you're not exactly a multiplayer junkie

-enjoy Sony first party games e.g. GOW, TwistedMetal, Wipeout, GT, R&C or even KZ (yes some ppl liked it!)

-already own an xbox360 anyway and got the cash...

The ps3 isnt cheaper what so ever, Im from Australia and for $600au you get the premium, a extra game maybe 2 aka Pgr3 and Do4 a dvd remote and a headset, The Ps3 is 1000Au and the only thing you get out of is the Br player and free online each year, Wifi, extra 40 gigs in the hardrive.

Xbox 360+ Hddvd drive+Wireless adapter $40au= $890 without the extra 40gig  memory card reader and it actually included 2 games, headset, media remote and HD cables!!!!!!!!!!.

Ps3- Ps3+ BR drive, Extra 40gig and a memory card reader but with out Hd cables, media remote, headset, 2 games......... so basicaly you pay $1150 for the same package as the 360 but with more hdd and a memory card reader and the xbox 360 you pay $890 without the extra space and hardrive, omg!!!! i never knew that 40gigs and a memory card reader were worth $260au

Although i know hd-dvd is dead i wouldnt even consider get a hd-dvd drive so im get a ps3 for that on the 23rd of march which is the ps3 release date, The premium gives the things you only need to play games where Sony is giving you a bad deal, Although i know this but im getting it for the Br player but not so much for the ps3 games because theirs only a hand fill of exclusives but i ll play some ps2 games, Ohhhhh i forgot pal systems will only be able to play ps2 games via software another idiotic move.

I presume this is kinda the diffrence in price between the two in most places, although i can praise Sont for making the ps3 region free and having a new disc format so it would hold back piracy for a while which means more game sales and thus more and better games.

Excuses Excuses the bottom line is that the PS3 costs more than an Xbox 360 all that other stuff isnt needed to play a game most people buy video game systems to play games I have an Xbox 360 and I have never been on Xbox Live ever! So you dont need all that extra stuff to enjoy a video game .

I can plug the cable directly into my Xbox, seeing that the cable tv and the xbox are (are you ready for this) CLOSE TO EACH OTHER!!! 

Next, my 360 upscales standard DVD pictures.  Is it true HD?   No.  But the HD movies I download from XBox Live are.  Oh, and the movies I stream from my PC through the 360 are.  So again you're not being totally honest.  I have watched true HD movies through my 360 without buying the HD-DVD adaptor.

Lastly, Xbox live is currently $50 year.  It's also unquestionably the best online service available for any console.  Simply put you get what you pay for.

To play Hi Def games with your PS3 you have to buy HD cables.  Microsoft included those.  Cost of HD cables?  About the same as Live!   You lose.
