360 problems The more games you play on it the better chance of it crapping out

He's been talking about the "red rings of doom," which signal the Xbox is "fried." I nodded and smiled, like I was actually paying attention, all the while thinking about whether I could get away with making Shake 'n' Bake pork chops AGAIN this week.

Well, I should have been paying attention. There are three people on our block who have Xbox 360s, and in the span of a month, all three consoles went on the fritz. The problem isn't new. Microsoft set aside $1 billion a few months back to fix all the broken consoles. Most customers have praised Microsoft's response.

The problem to begin with, is that any of the boxes have to be replaced at all. And the even bigger problem may be that the problem is getting worse (that's a lot of problems). Why worse? Because you have a slew of hot new titles, like "Halo 3," "Call of Duty 4," and "Assassins Creed," which means the 360s are getting a lot of heavy usage.

The problem is that the console heats up and cools. With that the boad bends and eventually the leads get out of place.

It's innevitable, just a matter of time before it breaks.

I got the 3 red lights before I played Bioshock a month ago. I rebooted and since then I have played Bioshock in two very long sessions, and ME in 3 long sessions, COD4 in one session and some gears on the side, and have no problems. I don't deny there is a problem but I'm glad it hasn't happened to me yet. Mine is invinsible!!! *turns on 360*...Damn you!Brutal_Elitegs

Odd story of last gen. I had my PS2 kinda fail. And I sat it to the side and played my Overrated Box lol. And than a while later, that thing seemed to have broke. So I tried the PS2 again, and it worked fine "still does." Im not sure what it was. Than I moved and pulled out and re hooked up the Overrated Box. And it worked fine?? So they all finished off last gen working. So I have had that happen before. Odd? Like they just needed 3 month naps.



But I got one nephew we just got a Wii for on the walmart 7 game deal. Yea im telling my sisters which games to get "half so I can play :P." And Yea that much for a Wii?? And one nephew is breaking the family rule, and getting a 360. Im anxious to see how long it lasts on him. I did warn him. And hes the type to just lay it anywhere, and let it be running all day. I give it 3 months at the most.

"On the Wii thing" My Nephew is like 8. And im telling my sister "Yea get RE4!, its a great game lol" I just want to play it on the Wii, I own the Cube version. But in all fairness, their was not many games to choose from. So he got a share of games he can play. Plus it comes with Wii sports.

I use my 360 all the time; it's my primary game platform, my DVD player, and I plug my Ipod into it and use it as a stereo. Still have yet to have problems.TyrantDragon55

The 360 is the worst DVD player. Your movies deserve better.

I have a new PC I already sold my 360 because of the many problems that I am having with it. I jumped in like any other people because it was cheap and have the games at the moment.. But it isnt worth all the stress that i putting myself through at all.If you are lucky your 360 will last for one year or more...Until the problem is fixed i will probaly buy one again..I still want to play NG2..I just feel i shouldnt be supporting something that isnt reliable..

Unfourtunately I have no space in my room for a stand-alone DVD player. How's the PS3's DVD playback BTW? I'll probably end up getting one next year.

If this continues I can't see 360 winning the console race, not by a long shot.0bscurity

360 and PS3 neither have a chance of heck in winning considering Wii is the sale hog. Although I prefer the PS3 hardware and 360 games....

Well atleast you can get games and other things as compensation.

Have a friend that got a total of 3 games and one controller as compensation. So its not all bad.
