360 putting the final nail in the PS3 coffin?

Two weeks from now, every week for the next 8 weeks we will see the greatest holiday lineup on a singular console. A console that can be purchased for $199. And yes, it WILL play every single one of these games exactly like the $299 console. Multiplatform games listed below are expected to have the most features and perform the best on the Xbox 360 platform (what else is new?) This console is geting a free upgrade to the industry's most innovative user interface since the original Xbox 360 blade interface.

October 14 - Dead Space
Saints Row 2
October 21 - Fable II
Far Cry 2
October 28 - Fallout 3
November 7 - Gears of War 2
November 11 - Banjo Nuts & Bolts
Mirror's Edge
Call of Duty WAW
November 17 - Left 4 Dead
November 20 - The Last Remnant
December 2 - Prince of Persia


If I were a fanboy, I'd have to choose to be an Xbox 360 fanboy this holiday season. If I were any other fanboy, I'd be lying to myself if I said I wasn't completely jealous.

Oh, I know $700 is a lot to shell out for games. The hardest part of owning an Xbox 360 is coming up with a game purchasing strategy!

Yeah, the 360's Great....BUT so is the PS3.

The XMB is awesome, and far better than the LAGGY Blade system, I don't know why we are even talking interfaces anyways.

As far as that games list goes, you can stick the PS3's Exclusives in there, pull the 360 exclusives out, and keep all the multiplats and you 've still got a great lineup.

I realize the 360 is cheaper, and that will help sell it, but people in the HD market this Holiday season will find a Blu-Ray to be a great advantage.

I know fanboys are really crossing their fingers for that "final nail" to be put in the PS3's coffin this holiday season... the same way they were last year... and the year before.

The PS3 aint going anywhere. The 360 aint going anywhere. If I were a fanboy, I would just stop being a fanboy this holiday season. ;)

Quality over quantity my friend. We all know the only PS3 exclusive anyone actually cares about is LBP. PS3 fanboys are really trying to argue Resistance 2, but the fact is no non-PS3 owner really cares about it. Especially the 360 owners who are frankly tired of AAA shooters.

Yeah that will kill the PS3 just like the 360's 2007 line up did.

i didn't say that the 360 couldn't play all those just as good or better than PS3, i just don't see how TC think that this puts the final nail in PS3s coffin.

sony 1st party- Motorstorm pacific rift, LBP, SOCOM, R2

3rd party exclusives- Valkyria chronicles (was originally planned for 360, but was scrapped and moved to PS3), Naruto: UNS

THe perform best thing is kinda old. alot of multiplat work and look the same. Also nothing exclusive is in those multiplats you listed besides fallout 3. In the end it doesint matter what system you own your wallet will still be burning.

I think game publishers are awfully sadistic this year.. $400 is for the 40Gb here. Put that with the lack of interesting exclusives, and the decline of Blu Ray, and you have a picture of low popularity.

I think if you walked in to a Gamestop, EBGames, Walmart, etc. and did a survey asking, "if you could buy 3 more games than the 2 or 3 you can afford, would you do it?".. and I'll bet money most of them would say, "Yup"

You know, the sad thing of it all? You have to be really disciplined to buy all these games.. I mean, you are gonna get spoiled and you are gonna jump between all these games and play them and then play the other ones.. Its like an overload. And its not good.

People need to pace themselves. Then you go into withdrawl during the slow times of the year.. its really a messed up industry if you ask me.
