360 still just for shooters? Check out the RPGs

Time and time again people say 360 only has shooters. Well look at some of the RPGs comming to 360. With RPG being my favorite I love this list. Some are exclusive and some are multiplat but 360 is only system to be able to get them all.

These are just RPGs. All in all I think 360 can no longer be called the shooter console. It brings all kinds of great games to the table.

What was the best xbox game? what is so far the best 360 game? thats the point of that argument, ofc is has more then just shooters, no console only has 1 genre, but if you look at the ps´s their greatest game is much harder to decide on, their is more variety of truly amazing games.Eddie-Vedder

The 360 definitely has more than just shooters, but I think the reason it is still considered a shooters console is because the majority of the games that sell extremely well on the 360 are shooters. Just take a look at the sales for Perfect Dark Zero, Graw, F.E.A.R., Far Cry, Gears of War, Rainbow Six Vegas, Prey, Call of Duty 2 and 3, Lost Planet. Now look at all the hyped upcoming shooters for the 360: Halo 3, Bioshock (do not call it an RPG), Haze, Unreal Tournament 3, The Darkness, Shadowrun, Call of Duty 4, Brothers In Arms Hell's Highway, Kane & Lynch: Dead Men, and many others. Hopefully later this year, the 360 will be able to shake its shooter image with games such as Mass, Effect, Trusy Bell/Eternal Sonata, Blue Dragon, Banjo Threeie (if it comes out this year), DMC 4, and GTAIV.

But personally, I don't see Trusty Bell/Eternal Sonata or Blue Dragon selling well because of the "kiddy" image they portray. These games may not be "kiddy", but the image these games portray will seem "kiddy" to many people. I mean look at the games I named above, and then look at Trusty Bell and Blue Dragon. Something looks out of place. And Trusty Bell is being released the same month as Halo 3. Now which game do you see the MAJORITY of 360 owners or soon to be owners buying? You are going to have millions buying Halo 3, where as Eternal Sonata would be doing good if sold 50 thousand. I personally don't see this game appealing to the MAJORITY of the 360 audience just like Viva Pinata and Kameo didn't. Both great games, but the sales for them were abysmal compaired to the shooters I named above. Hope I'm wrong though.

i love rpg.. do you love rpg? is 360 coming out with a lot of rpgs? out of 10mill pep how many love rpg or is planning on buying a 360 because of these rpg? that's the question you need to ask yourself. i like shooting games but rpg and fighting games are the genre i love the most, is 360 delivering? yea, of course and that's what matter. enough said.

360 is clearly more diverse than the original Xbox by far. My only problem is... RELEASE THE DAMN GAMES!!!!

Gotta love it. A system that actually caters to American gamers like myself, who don't want to be inundated with stupid Japanese games.

The reason why people say that the 360 is just a shooter console is because of the fact that the XBOX was just a shooter console. It carried the image over. Though, in reality, it's FAR from it.

I'm excited for Blue Dragon and Mass Effect.

I am loving how Eternal Sonata is looking. :)

KOTOR2? That was on Xbox. If you meant KOTOR3, that hasn't been fully confirmed. It has been hinted at, but we honestly don't know which console it would be coming out for.project343

Honestly, Kotor 1-2 were on xbox, so if anything, xbox 360 gets it 100%, the question is, does PS3 get it to or not ??

Mass Effect is a pure RPG. A Western one, but an RPG. It just happens to have guns in it. That doesnt make it a shooter.TaCoDuDe

What about games for those of us who don't like RPGs, don't need racers, and get tired of shooters all the time?

I have yet to see a game that resembles the storytelling or action of Zelda.  What the 360 lacks above all is anything innovative or original.  GeOW looks good, and Assassin's Creed, but that's all.

Mass Effect is shaping up to have more ROLE PLAYING elements than most RPGs you've seen in a console.

The combat system is, of all things, the least relevant in determining what a RPG is and what it isn't. If you disagree with this, you are not a RPG gamer.

Well Zelda has a special feeling about it, but a story ? Well, not really a tremendeously amazing story, as for the action Fable is the closest in RPG form, the battles are that fluid, and use of magic stunning, zelda has no magic

Fable 2 is above ALL games in ALL platforms for me, even above zelda, especially after zelda TP fiasco, and i am not speaking about gamespot floppage, but about the fact that it flopped in my living room, on my tv, not only it looked terrible, but the gameplay felt older than any other good game i have played lately

As for the originality you search, ONLY Fable 2 has a chance to give it to you, no other game i can think of, and definatly not the gimmick Wii-mote or the PS1 graphics on Wii

Maybe Team ICO game, Last Remnant with the epic turn based battles and FF13 stand a chance to innovate too, but only a bit
