And the main character, jesus.

I mean, I have yet to get my hands on that game, but after watching a single video, this guy is probably more 'emo' than all FF characters combined.

Metal Gear Solid 3 was pretty depressing, I thought.

It was really just the ending. It almost made me cry. If they had played that really sad naruto music at the ending, I would have cried.

I always thought Quake 1 was a depressing game, for an FPS without much story. The whole atmosphere and setting is just depressing I think.

Also, some of the Resident Evil games can get depressing after a while, REmake for one (Lisa Trevor anyone?).

Also I was surprised at Super Mario Galaxy's unexpectedly unhappy ending .

Having just finished the 3 hour mode, i can honestly say Dead Rising takes that title.

Play socom 2 online for 2 years straight, 10 hours aday, then come on one day and find that the game is full of hackers and cheaters and that your name was hacked and all of your friends are erased.

Now thats depressing, especially when your not ready to give up the game.

lol That is awesome dude. SOCOM is such an overlooked franchise I think. It's awesome man, and it was kinda the PS2's "Halo" as far as online goes. I remember I was talking to some guy on Xbox Live playing Gears, and we were talking and he said "Did you own an original Xbox?" and I said, "Nah, I only had a PS2" and he said, "Ah, so you were a SOCOM guy, right?" lol.

And i know silent hill 2 is easily more depressing than lost odyssey...both great games btw. Silent Hill 2 is just....sad though...
