I dont really complain about the hardware of the 360, except for the occasional RROD (for me)
The 360 has a good look, the disc tray is fine, and the noise can be disrupting but not while playing a good game
here is something 360/ps3 owners would all agree on, and that is the ps3 is such an amazing quality console, to the wifi to the touch senstive buttons, the quite disc drive infact overall it's very quite and well built, which makes the 360 look like a piece of badly put togeather **** the disc tray is crap and the overall noise is terrible, it seems like such a badly built console and it shows with the RROD the sounds that comes out of it are just weird.gerard-williams
Yeah, I used to play on my brother's 360 a bit before he sold it. That thing had all sorts of strange clicking and scraping and scratching sounds coming out of it. It sounded like R2-D2 with a computer virus. Not to mention the fact that the fan was louder than a dump truck driving through a nitroglycerin plant...
Gears of War was a lot of fun, but I always kept a fire extinguisher nearby when I was playing (not really).
Indeed, which is why the perfect console would be the PS3 with the 360's current games.SolidSnake35
Now only if the PS3 had some worthwhile games to make me wanna own one. Sorta the problem u know. I mean Ps3 may look good. But they are huge and lack of games i want. 360s are crap quality. Got good games, sucks they are are mostly shooters and sport games. Wiis seem to have no quality problems. They look good. VC is a beast. ALOT of shovelware.lronfist
PS3 has plenty of worthwhile games and many more on the way.
i have both as well and i must admit i love my ps3 more than my 360. this is gonna sound weird but when i bought by 360 it was so good, excellent games, great features etc. my sp3 is just an infant still learning and getting better over time plus its the underdog and thats y it has a special place in my heart............ NO HOMOmclovin401
"So its just McLovin?"
"Thats Bad Ass"
looooool had to say that

All systems have shovelware but the Wii has some great games like Super Paper Mario, Legend Of Zelda TP and RE4 wii edition.
Why? The 360 is beautiful. In fact, let's put this one out there: the PS3 looks like a George Foreman Grill. The 360 also has removable faceplates, which can add your own personal touch. I think the PS3 is ugly and... no the 360's noise has never bothered me. In fact, I wouldn't say it's loud at all. darthzew
The 360 has a plastiky exterior--which, compared to the glossy, sheek design of the PS3, pales in comparison. And I'm personally not a fan of faceplates in general--oftentimes they don't fit the body of the console itself.
When it comes down to it, PS3 has a slicker, sexier design while 360 has a better game portfolio.

At least the 360 doesn't get fingerprints. Either way, the 'plastiky' exterior fits the console nicely. I hate pointing this out, but please don't forget the crappy Spider-Man font on the PS3. Really, I can't take that seriously.

wow you actually have urself convinced.....faceplates are you even serious on that one!! what a joke.[QUOTE="darthzew"]Why? The 360 is beautiful. What are you talking about? Faceplates rock! All you see is the front of the console and the personal touch looks better in my room, adding a bit of personality.
I don't hear my 360 disc drive when I'm playing the game. My system never RROD on me either, I had it close to a year now (if it did I have it under store warranty so...) I don't really care for Wifi, because my router is right behind entertainment center that my 360 is in, so a Wifi connection is worthless. The 360 is also very solid, I saw a Xbox 360 get knocked off a table to the floor while a kid was playing Halo 3 on it, and the system didn't crash and kept running with no glitches, now that's what I called built solid.
The XBOX 360 is built like a tank, you'd know that if you've ever opened one. Mine survived a 1.5 meter drop through the room without any problem. The DVD-drive is loud though and that RROD thing is a construction failure. That has nothing to do with it being poorly built.
The PS3 is more about style, but it seems a little "bulky" in a way i cant exlpain. I dont like the glossy piano paint on it, have to wipe it almost twice a day :(
All in all the PS3 might be more appealing to some people, the 360 isnt designed bad at all (not to mentioned i havent even started my PS3 since HeavenlySword)
btw. Faceplates suck ... really, they do
Well gee, i think i'll make a topic claiming PS3/360 owners will agree all PS3s are crud with 5 hour long games and over rated glorified flops like Heavenly sword and lair.
I'd rather pay the cheap option, with all the decent games and take the risk of a RROD (hasn't happend at all, owned my 360 for over a year) which'll get replaced for FREE than pay out a fortune for a glorified paper weight with a company that rips you off by lieing to you, dropping the price on there console a matter of months since it went on sale and removes things likebackwards compatiblity cause they've got no other means of selling there half baked, rubbish games.
Good day. ;D

so $400 is a fortune? i coulda sworn 360 was that price a couple months back

Anyway @ topic starter....sigh, just stop wasting our time with this. It's obviously getting you bovine nowhere.
I disagree. My PS3 makes way more noise then my 360. I hear clicking and everything coming from the disk drive. It even makes popping sounds every once and awhile because of the heat it puts off is greater then 360.
I had my PS3 freeze on me more times then my 360.
Not to-mention... Every single person that saw my PS3 said it look like crap. "Something from the 80's".

I totally agree with the points you made about the PS3.. but i wouldn't go as far as to say i agree with all the points on the 360. I have an Elite now and granted its not as quiet as the PS3 but its no jet engine either. the disc tray is just that.. a disc tray. I personally don't need something with bells and whistles on it, you put the disc in and it reads it, thats all i ask in that area.
You are over reacting just a tad calling the 360 "looks like a piece of badly put together ****"

The spiderman font actually fits the console well.
Looks much better than the 20gig without the chrome font

But i never played it and when i did it was becasue of the guilt of spending so much money and not playing it. THe 360 is top notch when it comes to games. So doyou want a pretty blue ray palyeror a gaming machine? i like to game so the answer is obivios. THe PS3 games are **** right now. But if theyever do get the games you can call me a cow cause i'lljumpon the band wagon!

The PS3 folks have to talk about reliability over and over (did the Xbox people do this last gen with the PS2? I don't remember it if they did.) because if they had to talk about software alone, they would feel screwed over.

lol This is so true. I got the RRoD. I'm on my second 360. And It's still no better. The fan is so freakin loud, Disc read errors on games with like one scratch, disk tray won't come out sometime, Freezes, gets really hot, make's grinding noises, and I never really got the " Please put this in an Xbox 360 console" when it won't read a disc sometime. Isn't it already in one LOL. Looks like I may have to send this one in soon, hope not. It'll be another month and a half. But my PS3 is working like a charm :D*knocks on wood*.

the 360 looks and feels cheap. The plastic casing feels really weak and inexpensive. I don't want my expensive electronic equipment to have removeable parts that you can decorate the machine with. The external power brick is ridiculously huge, and how the machine stilll gets that hot without having an internal power supply is beyond me. The machine makes a symphony of sounds, which add up to 1 noisy system. Every time I play mine, I think its going to break.
Say what you want about how the PS3 looks, but picking it up and touching it, you can tell its a well built machine. Mine fell off the table about 30 inches off the ground, and survived without a scratch. The machine does not get very hot and its pretty damn quiet.

You never have to touch the PS3 anyway. It's powered on and off by the controller.
