The 360 has a very unique look to it, and the design is definately professional. I love the design concepts of the PS3, but don't nessecerily like the design lines. It should have retained more of that unique PS2 flavor IMO. The touch sensitive buttons are great, and the glossy look is fantastic. The problem is that it needs the gloss. It shouldn't need the gloss, and the font was a bad choice and you know it.
The PS3 has futuristic written all over it, and that font works against it. The other design flaw is within the PS3 controller. The Six Axis hasn't benefitted in a single way. When compared the Wii-mote a year later, we see that Six Axis was a pure gimmick and poorly thought out. The PS3 controller is also difficult to use for FPS's. I wouldn't normally dock points for this, but Sony feels pressure to have a killer app FPS, so it's justified. However, the KB&M support will help UT greatly. Although I'm personally against KB&M myself.
The PS3 also has to be tethered to the console in order to charge the controller. Years later when those lithium batteries die, or get phased out, the 360 will be able to useregular AA batteries. This isn't a problem for the casuals, because they just trade all there old stuff back, but the hardcore may want to pull the 360or the PS3 outin 10 years.
You also have toparcially install the software in order to maximize loading times for PS3 games, which is another flaw.
The 360 has it all and there's no denying it.The 360 was built as a pure plug and play gaming machine, a powerfull one at that! The software has proven this point time and again. The controllerdesign works for every game except fighters. Let's face it, the onlyreal flaw the entire 360 system has is that D-pad.
You can easily charge multiplebatterie packs, switch face plates, customize the dashboard, and then get on with gaming at it's best. The 360 doesn'tbother you with stuff you don't need or want, but it's all there. Windows Media functionality, photo viewer, video playback, customizable soundtracks, which feature easy plug and play from Mp3 players. You can play your music in any game at any time! And all the while you can be chatting with someone playing Halo 3, when your running around Liberty City.
If you want High def movies then youcan rent them from marketplace, or just buy the HD-DVD player.I like that the 360 is a pure game machine, that featuresthe best of the best games anywhere, period!
