All gadgets get revisions, it's inevitable. If you're not convinced with how it currently works then maybe it would be best if you wait. I for one am getting it on day one and if I feel like the next one makes some notable improvements then I'll buy it too.

its all about the games. if theres no games interesting you then dont get a gaming platform. just because it exists doesnt mean you need it immediately. the other reason to hold off is the revisions. the way im treating this is i asking the question "is there anything very wrong with the 3DS that could be fixed in a future revision?". i was burned with the Dsfat...bought it day 1 and the DSLite fixed it. i didnt bother with a DSi though as the DSLite did what i wanted and the DSi was hardly a major improvement for games. so looking at the 3DS as is....whats wrong with it that could be fixed in a future revision (so no dual analogue you crazy NGP fans :P). well as i see it: 1) the battery life is shoddy. yes you can disable and adjust X,y and Z but at the end if the day it should be a 6 hour minimum battery life. thats very fixable with a bigger battery and refined electronics in a future version. 2) theres question marks over the sweet spot of the 3DS due to mixed media feedback. some say it has to be absolutely spot on, others say theres a bit of tolerence. so is it good enough? thats something that can only be answered by trying it yourself. could it be improved? well the tech is going to have to be improved for tellys so id imagine yes. 3) its not a good looker imho. not a big deal really but it could look better and thats certainly something that will be improved. 4) how are the screens? are they nice and bright and clear? will there be room for major imporvement (OLED screens for example..another battery saver also)? the major issue for me is 2 followed by 1. 1 i can live with (and i did buy a PSP 1000 also so its not just a case if its ninty so its ok) but id like it improved. i can see 3rd parties releasing a bigger battery for it though just like they did with the PSp. 2 though could be nasty. if the tolerence is very small then using the 3D could be a pain. again its something im going to try before buying but if its very limited in this area then i may wait for the 3DSLite to see if they can improve on it.
