And why?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
I personally prefer the Vita, better hardware, better online functionality, apps like Netflix and YouTube are great on it, and most importantly I prefer the Vita's library of games. Not to say that the 3DS is bad though, it's not, I just can't find any interest in it's current library.
The majority will disagree with me here though, and go with the 3DS, but for a good reason, the 3DS is a great system with a solid library.Â

VITA, especially if you have PS Plus.Â
It ends up being much cheaper than 3DS.Â
Instant access to:
-Uncharted Golden Abyss
-Gravity Rush
-Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus
-Wipeout 2048
-Jet Set Radio Future
-Mutant Blobs Attack
and more
(Plus cross-buy games; free games if you've bought certain games for ps3 already (PS All Stars, Sly Cooper Thieves in Time, etc))
I forgot to mention PS+ in my post, such a great deal for Vita owners.VITA, especially if you have PS Plus.Â

The Vita is the most perfect Handheld that I have ever laid my hands on.
Problem? I don't have enough games for it, and the support seems to be dwindling so most of the time, It just sits there.
The 3DS has a lot of games that I look forward to and buy.
Â
Just looking at the games themselves should tell you which system is better.
The 3DS actually gets support from Nintendo and has a future, and has a much more appealing library for me overall.
The 3DS easily.
And that full BC with the entire DS catalog. It's a fairly solid handheld. And maybe one day... GBA on the e-store.The 3DS actually gets support from Nintendo and has a future, and has a much more appealing library for me overall.

If the 3DS had a GBA VC, the 3DS could potentially hold pretty much every worthwhile Nintendo handheld game made. That'd be awesome.
These are the upcoming North American 3DS games, so in my opinion 3DS.
Â
Let me know which ones you're going to pick up BTW.Â
Vita has better hardware ( the rear touch flopped big though) and the 3DS has better games. Persona 4 Golden helped close that gap though. Then again Fire Emblem may have opened it again.......GoldenElementXL
I dont think a multiplatform game matters at all for closing any gap

I would add this one too, Layton and Azran mysteries
If Bravely Default and Layton Azran comes to US, 3DS will definitly be one of my best systems of all time, if not the very best
3DS imo, but I like both of them. There may be a lack of Vita games that I actually want at the moment, but I'm really satisfied with the Vita because I never had a PSP. There are lots of great PSP games on PSN just waiting to be downloaded. Plus Disgaea 3 and Persona 4 are pretty cool on the Vita too.
The 3DS is my preferred handheld at the moment. I've got a really fantastic library of games for it so far and it's only going to get better with Castlevania, Luigi's Mansion, and Pokémon at the end of the year.Â
I do want a Vita because there are a lot of great experiences to be had on the handheld, but there just aren't enough for me currently. That and I don't know what the future of the Vita is. :?Â
Vita all the way. I got a 3DS to play Nintendo first party games. Sold it because i hated the console design (no dual analog, the main screen is too small and very low res, and the 3d is a complete wast of resources. Vita, on the other hand, is awesome tech. It just lacks support from devs.
so there's no reason to buy a Vita, unless you're an hardcore Sony fan.Or just have an interest in games nintendo lacks in. Like shooters are why I prefer sony. There are also features like party chat and trophies I can't get on 3dsAtari Jaguar > PS VitaStefan91x
Not a lot of objectivity here in system wars. Both handhelds are awesome in their own ways and both are worth owning. Neither one is better than the other.
Im snowed in from the storm and have spent plenty of time with Fire Emblam, and Mario Kart 7 on 3DS and Persona 4 and Sly Cooper on PS Vita. All i can say is i equally enjoy both and am glad i have them.
Both are pretty great. It depends on your taste, but be warned: the 3DS has sh!tty graphics and is uncomfortable to hold, and for many, the Vita library is lacking.tarzanell

Honestly, the graphics on the systems (shock horror) are going to be about the same for most of the games you see out there. Expect Vita games and 3DS games to both look like PS2-era games, albeit playing at different resolutions. This is of course with the exception of the odd first-party game. What you are going to see for the most part is the same assets (more or less) simply playing at higher internal resolutions. All the Vita games I've played outside of first-party (with maybe the exception of Soul Sacrifice) have looked that way so far and I don't really expect that to change.[QUOTE="whiskeystrike"][QUOTE="trugs26"]Well if there is any bannable post in SW, this is the one. Â While the gap isn't as wide as the one between the ds and psp, vita games still look much better than anything on the 3ds. Â Uncharted golden abyss for example. Psp felt like ps2 but vita feels more like ps3 with the games i have played like assasins creed liberation, need for speed and ninja gaiden I agree that on paper the difference is pretty large. Yet as you said, smaller than the gap last generation. What I feel though is that that difference won't really materialise for the majority of games we see. Most handheld games are made by small-medium Japanese companies and as such they are probably going to hedge their bets by making games that can scale to both systems. For western developers though we might see games that are closer to PS3 standard simply because they are more likely to reuse assets from their substantial current-generation console game library (something the Japanese, who have largely retreated to handhelds, lack). The problem is that traditionally western developers don't offer strong on-going support for handheld systems which means it is likely that you will end up with a situation where the games are made by the smaller Japanese studios and where the differences aren't really that big. Of course if the Vita explodes in Japan much like the PSP did then we might see stronger, dedicated efforts to make use of the hardware.for those that have stupid high standards.
