Considering that Killzone Mercenary, Soul Sacrifice, Tearaway are all Sony published and funded games, how are they not supporting it? They have also put out Gravity Rush, Hots Shots Golf, Modnation Racers, Playstation: All-Stars Battle Royale, Resistance, Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time, Unit 13, Uncharted : Golden Abyss, Wipeout 2048, Sony IP's are not system sellers like Nintendo's Mario, Pokemon and Zelda however, that says nothing about support.[QUOTE="Shinobishyguy"]the wii u's up a sh*t creek now, but you can count on nintendo supporting it at the very least.[QUOTE="FlamesOfGrey"] I'm sure you'd like to believe that. Really? New Super Mario Bros. 2 is a lazy rehash, Pilotwing lacks content, The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time is an enhanced port, Star Fox 64 3D is a port. The only Nintendo games that show effort are Fire Emblem: Awakening, Kid Icarus: Uprising despite the controls, Super Mario 3D Land.
We're talking about 1st party support and Nintendo's for the 3DS is actually on pars with Sony's currently.
Edit: I forgot Paper Mario Sticker Star since you want to talked about B-Team Efforts like Uncharted Golden Abyss look nowhere else then that games. It's inferior to the previous entries on the consoles.

LOL owned.
The sheep is so delusional.
Vita all the way. I got a 3DS to play Nintendo first party games. Sold it because i hated the console design (no dual analog, the main screen is too small and very low res, and the 3d is a complete wast of resources. Vita, on the other hand, is awesome tech. It just lacks support from devs.
PAL360
I completely agree. The only difference is that I still have mine. I was not impressed with the 3d. It's cool at first. Even with the big library, I basically only play Pushmo.

Still trying to use the 3ds's weak launch as ownage? :|
Things have changed since then, so far the 3ds has 3d land, Mario kart 7, Fire Emblem, Kid icarus, pushmo/crashmo and upcoming titles like Luigi's mansion, Animal crossing, Â and Pokemon XY

So tell me what is sony coming up with, (assuming they aren't pooling all their resources into the ps4 and leaving the vita out in the cold)
[QUOTE="Comduter"]One game alone can't make or break any console no matter how successful it is (and Monster Hunter really isn't all that popular outside of Japan anyway). The thing is that a majority of the support for handhelds comes from Japanese developers who tend to use native sales of games to judge whether to continue releasing/making games for a given platform. If the Vita does badly in Japan because of a lack of big hitters like Monster Hunter then you can be sure that those developers will be less willing to make games for the platform and as a result there will be less content out there to be translated into other languages for other markets. Monster Hunter might look like only one title, but in its shadow hides an entire genre; where Monster Hunter goes so will the rest of the genre. But other JRPG's have already been released for the Vita. Maybe if Monster Hunter Vita was released and sold poorly, then Japanese devs would have a good reason to feel skeptical about making other rpg's for the system.[QUOTE="LittleMac19"]3DS, brighter future, access to every game of my favorite handheld(DS) and basically has the types of games that appeal to me. The Vita has the potential but so did many before it and I think not securing the monster hunter franchise will be the downfall of this handheld, simple as thatArticuno76

The 3DS easily.

Plus the awesome collection of PSP games and PS1 games, minis, and PS mobile,, give it a huge backlog of older and newer smaller titles to play, plus lots and lots of classic JRPGS... On the store, something that is lacking in the 3ds as the EShop has very little titles and is very expensive.
Most games on the vita are $5 cheaper online too. And only 2 games have been $50... that was uncharted and cod... all other games are $5-40 most in the 20-40 range. Also

3ds is awesome too. I own both you see. and so should you! it has great old games like zelda and a select few great new games like fire emblem and eterian odyessy. If you are not into nintendo 1st party though its selection is slim pickings until more games are released.

This isn't a hard choice. One system has great games and a future and the other one is the Vita. mems_1224how would you know? Do you own both? I thought not... Same people were around last gen with ds and psp, saying that the psp sucks and has no games... well that turned out to be wrong and psp is one of the greatest systems for jrpgs and such... Vita has lots of great games. I own over 25 vita games and they are good. I also own a 3ds with a few non nintendo titles (fire emblem the exception as I am a massive fan). To me, if you only own one your probably biased.

Okay, I missed some retail titles for the 3DS since I was going by my actual collections for both systems. Nintendo has released 5 more titles then Sony in 2 years then Sony has in 1. They're not towering over Sony in support like Shinobishyguy tried to make it seem. I didn't include digital titles for either company and no titles like Playstation: ASBR and Sly Cooper don't skew numbers becuase they're an advantage and titles for the PS Vita like Super Smash Brothers will be for the 3DS even though it will be on the Wii-U.Let's see the full picture:

Thanks for posting this, glad to see at least one person has some sense in this board. Everyone loves to hate on the Vita, and think the 3DS is so far ahead of it in terms of games, when really this difference miniscule (it really should be a lot wider, with the 3DS coming out a year ahead).
Both have strong libraries (3DS with the slight edge), but for some reason Nintendo fanboys (and the occasional lemming) just refuse to accept that.
And this was just 1st party games, both have some good if not great 3rd party games as well.
Vita should shoot ahead shortly. Both Soul Sacrifice and Toukiden will dominate in Japan. Tearaway and Killzone: Mercenary will do well in the West. I also heard that Rockstar is working on a Vita game and that Metal Gear Solid will come to the Vita. These are the killer apps that the Vita needs.LiquidBoost
Because everyon wants 4 crappy games and some terrible boring games make a difference

Lack Of Marketing
Lack of System Selling Games
High Price
These to me are the problems currently with the system, even if Sony offers a whole bunch of games really..they are not System sellers, like Tearaway cool looking game but no way in hell is that selling systems. Sony's marketing team is..run by monkeys, and even if the system is worth the price due to the value of the hardware it still is too expensive for average gamers.
I prefer the Ps Vita loving that system however the 3DS will get more support.
Vita has not got a single game i wantloosingENDSHow many 3ds games and i looking forward to in the future? 1...2 max How many vita games am i looking forward to in the future? at least 3 its all opinions dude.
not really, fire emblem closed that gap.again.. all opinions. I have no interest in rushing out to get fire emblem now. If i tally up the games i want from both systems, even games that havnt come out yet... vita wins easily.

The reason I got a 3ds was a huge letdown. :( hopefully Castlevaina can make up for it.Ghost120x
What gets me is the mad obsession nintendo fans have about bashing the vita and its games. Its sickening the hate some have for it. I don' t know if its because they can't afford it that they need to bash it, but they target different markets and there is room for both handhelds. I would hate if it was back to just nintendo doing handhelds. Competition leads to more games and better innovations. Remember the gameboy didn't get a full color version for years (and there were full color handhelds back when it came out.). Also nintendo handhelds back then were aimed solely at kids.. to the point where difficulty in games was reduced purposely to appease to American kids. Also no M rated games on gameboy games, it was seen as a kids toy in the public eye. Which it was, and I was glad when they stopped producing it and made a new brand. I owned both handhelds last gen, and do so this gen to. I hope I will be doing the same in 5-6 years down the line too.

Indeed, i love JRPGs in the FF9 style, so Bravely Default alone would make me prefer 3DS to Vita (and to most other consoles out there as well, to be exact)
Plus i love Zelda and the Layton games, so 3DS makes all the difference with its games
Now, that is IF Bravely Default, Layton Azran etc come to US/EU and a new Zelda does arrive eventually, otherwise 3DS looses 90% of its value for me
