I have not played with it yet, but the 3D I think (assuming) was a BAD idea, and the launch lineup was just stupid lol. They will be fine, but it won't hit the success of the DS.

[QUOTE="Dibdibdobdobo"]Did you even read the article? One person wanted a refund. And whole thousands of people can not handle it sounds crazy too. Yes i read the article as i read the paper online and also buy it for Work to read. The article indicated that it was several people as it said "Gamers" rather than Gamer and then the article went onto a persons 1st hand experience at getting a refund. I exaugrated with saying thousands and millions as thats my nature and it gets more people reading the article. The Sun is a biased against Nintendo products from what i can tell when it has came to writing articles.Thousands upon millions of people are asking for a refund on the 3ds according to the Sun.

fools indeed, some of those editors must be cows. What insolent fools The Sun must consist of.

my wife bought one the other day and sadly it is indeed going back. i played with it for abit with just pilot wings and someother crap and while the 3d makes the system come alive it also kills it. she can only take the 3d for about 1/2 an hour before becoming irritated with it and for some reason i can only last a few minutes before my eyes get screwy. I think it has to do with my glasses since i get troubled by 3d movies as well. Its not the games or movies that do it its inbalances in my vison. either way the 250 she payed just isnt worth it to her. She actually said to me a few days ago after playing it that because she has to turn off the 3d its just like her ds but alot more expensive. Its too bad really. I do like the system but its just too much for the eyes. gives me the same headaches as my virtuaboy. kit352problem is, at least in the UK, is that the retailer have no obligation to refund a product if you're just 'no happy' with it. if you have opened the box and have used it the retail will not give you your money back.
This is the proof when the 3d technology getting lame because of eye irritation after watching in 3d for too long! Most people had been experinced this and I'm found an alternative way for the people who hate 3D views but want an awsome 2D view, the transparent glass...

Well Maxconsole doesn't know what the hell it's talking about. For the record, the 3DS is definitely a next-gen handheld, more powerful graphics =/= next-gen. It just means more powerful graphics. Nintendo is more about innovation, not realism. I honestly doubt the 3DS will sell as well as its predecessor, the DS, simply because the 3D effect can be an eyestrain and therefore will turn off a lot of buyers. Even if it can be turned off, many people are not going to play it if the 3D hurts their eyes. Regardless, it's a Nintendo handheld. Remember Nintendo's track record in the handheld market. COMPLETE DOMINATION. The PSP is really just known as "that system that failed the least". The 3DS will sell fine, I even bet it'll sell at least 85 million in its lifetime.problem is, at least in the UK, is that the retailer have no obligation to refund a product if you're just 'no happy' with it. if you have opened the box and have used it the retail will not give you your money back. not a problem in the states. anything and everything can be returned most of the time.[QUOTE="kit352"]my wife bought one the other day and sadly it is indeed going back. i played with it for abit with just pilot wings and someother crap and while the 3d makes the system come alive it also kills it. she can only take the 3d for about 1/2 an hour before becoming irritated with it and for some reason i can only last a few minutes before my eyes get screwy. I bought a 3DS fully expecting not to be able to experience the 3D. I do not get a 3D effect from movies, magic eye pictures, or even 3D vision tests. Surprisingly, I do see the 3D while playing 3DS games so go figure. That said, it's easy for a lot of people to dismiss the idea of playing a 3DS without the 3D effect because it's new and the library is pretty small. However, it is the new platform for Nintendo handheld software now, so that means if I want to play those games now or in the future I need a 3DS. The DS is already starting to slow down on releases and while this spring has seen some great games, summer and fall are looking pretty dull.
I actually think Nintendo was very smart in making sure that the 3D effect was not required for actual gameplay because otherwise a lot of people would have had to sit out this gen and missed a lot of great games.

This is the reason why I wasn't sold by the idea at all. And, frankly don't care about the system.
It's just a gimmick.

Gimmicks aren't a bad thing. I just "lol" when people keep on saying "gimmick" as if its a cheap and bad thing :lol:It's like returning your car because you get car sick.....

Cars are worse as there is no slider to turn the effects off.
A little off topic TC, but your username must be a pain in the ass to type out. Blabadon
not really lol. My Nickname is "Dobo" and i use that username *dibdibdobdobo" on everything or *dobzilian".
On topic. Why am i getting bashed by so many people for adding a article from the tabloids?! Rather than bashing me why not add something to the debate on the article. I'm just the messenger and thought this article would be something differant to talk about rather than the usual rubbish. I havent bashed Nintendo nor the article as i cannot speak on the situation as ive not owned a 3ds nor attempted to take one back.
Kinda weird that im usually called a sheep and now by several people im bashing nintendo.

But you can drive well[QUOTE="KC_Hokie"]I've never understood why people buy handhelds in the first place. I had the original Gameboy when I was like 9 and the GameGear a few years later and the got tired of handhelds. Paying all that money to play outdated games vs. what you could get on consoles didn't make sense to me when I was like 12. Dibdibdobdobo
Out dated games?! Arent we playing pretty much the same games as we have done since last gen with a better paint job on consoles?! When the Consoles have some good JRPG's which are comparable to what the PSP and DS i'll believe you. When Consoles have a more variation in games than handhelds i'll beleive you. Oops you dont know anything about Handhelds so it explains your bad assumption.
no, were not.the sun does not even like the 3DS to begin with.
if yu dont like a company tring to do something different then thats a problem. im tired of just the basics i like the fact that nintendo tries to take chances and not cater to the old demographic. expand the horizonsa little bit

I said that already. there opinion is quite biased against Nintendo. Though many people are too busy laughing upon me for adding this article and bashing me saying i aint read the article.
BTW: The Sun paper has page 3 and football in it. Its not that bad.....
The guy played for 3 minutes. Please.
There are so many ignorant comments that it blows my mind, that I'll respond here:
1. The 3DS is a generational leap in graphics over the DS.
2. The 3D is impressive.
3. The launch lineup has been lackluster at best, but the games coming are going to blow minds.
4. When the games come, the 3DS will sell big...just like the DS.
5. The NGP has little or no bearing on 3DS sales.
Ever since they announced it been saying..3DS is garbage ( well to me it is ), im trying to sell my Ds lite for an XL for the bigger screen and to play pokemon white, other than pokemon and the world ends with you, personally this handheld is pure garbage
I laughed at people who called the wii motion controls a gimmick because it really does have an impact on the games. Not just the motion sensing but the IR pointer especially. With the 3DS, I don't see its defining feature as affecting gameplay at all. If you could look at the 3D at multiple angles then I could see it being substantial but as I see it the 3DS is pure gimmick. I owned the Virtual Boy, bought one for $20 in fact, and the 3D is great but once you get used to it, it isn't a big deal. Far from a revolutionGunSmith1_basicActually, you can look at the 3D at multiple angles if you play AR games. I'm not sure if that will ever translate to actual retail games or not.
but the NGP is sooooo much better amirite? i honestly have trouble believeing you own anything thats not a sony product honestlyEver since they announced it been saying..3DS is garbage ( well to me it is ), im trying to sell my Ds lite for an XL for the bigger screen and to play pokemon white, other than pokemon and the world ends with you, personally this handheld is pure garbage

Wasn't this confirmed fake
The number of calls and emails with queries on Nintendo 3DS is in fact well below the rate experienced during past hardware launches and having spoken with our retail partners there are only a handful of people who have actually gone into stores to request a refund.

i played pilot wings yesterday and it was utter crud. i dont even know why its called 3ds it goes into the screen not out.daveg1In 3D images there's negative parallax (things popping out of the screen) and positive parallax (things going into the screen). With the games on the 3DS they use mostly positive parallax mainly because at the distance you are looking at the screen even moderate negative parallax would have you focusing just a little in front of your nose (in otherwords you'd be cross eyed) and then the effect would break down. Frankly going into the screen (positive parallax) is the only way you'll ever get a handheld device to display a 3D image properly unless you have it sitting across the room.

More or likely was. I dont know why theyre so against Nintendo as a company (Im a avid reader of the Sun) and will openly admit theyre quite against it in comparison to Microsoft or Sony. What made it worse is that it was front page news. Several of the parents today was on about it at the Martial Arts Academy which i train at (when not injured) which i had to correct about the situation about how it was BS. I've posted the Links which people have given to my FB account to ease those parents fears. The complaints I'm hearing about the 3DS are disturbingly similar to the ones the Virtual Boy got. Too expensive, unimpressive graphics, the 3D makes your eyes hurt, not enough good games... I think Nintendo was so eager for a new gimmick that they never stopped and thought about whether or not it was a good idea.Timstuff
"too expensive"
As each gen comes by the systems will get more expensive. Since the 3DS is more powerful then the PSP and has 3D, it was bound to be at least around $250. I sure the NGP is going to be around $300.
"unimpressive graphics"
There been a lot of praise for a couple of the launch titles like Street Fighter for their graphics.
"the 3D makes your eyes hurt"
That why there a option of turning down or off the 3D.
"not enough good games"
The system just came out and alot of systems had this problem too. The DS had a worse lineup yet look where it ended up.
No way the 3DS will end up like the Virtual Boy.

It wouldn't have strong 3rd party support if it was like that.
Btw, you never heard of the DS launch right? Deja vu once again.

Go ahead repeating it though, Maybe the 3DS will spectacularly fail this Christmas and you will actually have a case to make.
I love the damage control going on in here. Oh that's not a credible source, just turn 2d on. The why in the hell would you buy one? Sure it may be more powerful, but for $250? millerlight89
No one claimed the 3D was worth $250 by itself.
If anyone is out there who JUST wants the 3D effect and doesn't care to invest in a new handheld, they have no business buying it.
