In my book it did. I have never owned a handheld and never had the urge to buy one. This is something different and even having full fledged games (2GB and higher cartridges) I am so pumped for the rerelease of the classic stuff.
Playing MGS 3 in 3D and at the ps2 level on a handheld would be amazing. The press all over the web are extremely positive on it. Nintendo again is doing something no other company does. 3D gaming without the glasses seem awesome. I need to see it but IGN and Gamespot both love it.
For me it's easily the 3DS
