I agree, cartoons don't translate into good games.

Felous1
Yu Yu Hakusho and Rurouni Kenshin OVA.
PS: There's a Naruto game being made for the 360, and One Piece for the Wii.
plus bleach already came out on the wii in japan. Oh and I'm pretty certain there's a Yu Yu Hakusho game out on the DS or something... at least I think there is :P
Aren't they all games already?
I'm waiting for the next Prince of Tennis Smash Hit game to be announced. I'm happy with Initial D and Wangan, and Wangan anime is coming soon.

It's a habit. I still call it like that, haven't watched it in a while.
mmmkay you could have picked a better set of anime than that. But personally I would love to see a Bleach game that's actually worth playing. I mean with bankai, shikai and flash steps the basic game mechanics are already laid out and waiting for the developer.
Also I'd like to see an Excel Saga game on wii. Even though it would probably be a minigame compilation, I'd buy it.
1. Gintama - Best Action/Comedy show on right now.
2. Darker Than Black - Pretty much the best anime this year. It's the new Ghost in the Shell
3. Romeo X Juliet - Awesome fantasy setting/music. Flying horses and dragons
4. Death Note - Great series, could make a great adventure game.
The only anime I every watched and liked was Ranma, but I have no idea how you would turn that into a decent game.Hoobinator
I had a Ranma game on Snes when I was much younger, back before I knew anything about Ranma/anime/games. Though it wasn't very good, it was some fighting game.
My four next gen anime shows, I'd like to see translated into games are.
1. Naruto(PS3): I used to hate this show, but if they can make a good action adventure that takes control of the shows unique moves and flavor, and give me a japanese voice over option, that would be my top choice.
2. Yu Yu Hakusho: If they could some how turn this into an action adventure, where you play the role as Yuuske through the game, similar to a Devil May Cry style. They have an excuse for random enemies, since the whole plot is based around demon realm and so forth, and spirit detecting. With a little more choice and free roaming, that would be a dream game for me.
3. Dragonball Z: I have yet to see a great action adventure game from this franchise, and as much as they pump out games. You would think they would give it one more attempt, than the horrible dragonball Z sagas. Though they are working on a DBZ MMO, I hope it will be able to capture the true DBZ feel. Which is a few years too late, but the next generation is perfect for what they would have to do with an MMO.
4. Nothing too much else, I'm not that big of a fan of anime, but I'm giving the new stuff a try.
1. Samurai X/ Rouroni Kenshin- Would be one of the best games ever if they did it right.
2. Hellsing- probably would be hard but it should follow Alucard.
3. Bleach- And adventure game instead of fighting would be cool, in my opinion.
4. Zoids- Imagine making one from ground-up an then going online and battling others.
And those are my 4 choices
Depends on whether or not the games would be good. If they are like normal anime games then I say trash them all. But these would be my chooses. Berserk - Yeah, played the DC one and it was actually really good. Hellsing - This one would be hard to do. Who's viewpoint do you follow? Mission based or free roaming? Gantz - Started watching this the other day. I think it would make a good game. Record of the Lodoss War - Old school DnD action.Ibacai
They could make Hellsing just like The Darkness. First person or third with "powers". Or make it Devil May Cryish...
Anime and video games need like a thousand mile restraining order...
Those two should never come in contact.

Rurouni Kenshin was good because of its script (story). How the hell would it translate into a game? DING DING... IT DOESN'T. i liked trust & betrayal but i would not touch a game based on it with a 100 foot pole.

Omg you said Samurai X, I may have to murder you!
Call it Rurouni Kenshin for god sakes.
NobuoMusicMaker
Too bad fillers killed Samurai X, it was good at first and after the first fillers but after that, meh-

Yep, the reason is that they're rare/imports.

Those first 3 aren't available in the States, and probably not anywhere outside of Japan. The last two scored a 7.8 and a 5.1 respectively...
Not exactly what I would call "Great games"...

I think I made it clear in my previous posts that I don't consider Gamespot the voice to my tastes when it comes to video games. Magic Knight Rayearth was a great Action RPG for it's time when I got to play around with it (Thanks to a friend of mine) and for the money I put down on the game, Sword of The Berserker was a great beat'em up for the Dreamcast. By the way: Jojo was available in the US.
As for the two DS games, import or not, they are great anime based games. I personally have Jump Ultimate Stars and enjoyed the time I put into that game and Bleach 2nd is a great fighting game that people seem to enjoy. Just because they are imports doesn't mean their values as games are diminished.

Imports are irrelevant, it's the quality of the game that matters. The vast majority of anime based games are horrendous, just like a movie based game. While there are exceptions, most games based on prexisting IPs are just done for fan service and a quick buck, and even half the time, they don't offer the fan anything that isn't obtainable from the original source.

The majority of games in general suck so that's to be expected. I never said that every anime game is golden, I simply stated that there are a few that I personally would consider great games. Either way, you tried dismissing imports when I posted them so I had to call you out on that. Import games still can possess qualities of great games so they count regardless.
i'm still waiting for that cowboy bebop game for the PS2.hotdaisy18Same Here its been 2 years since I added it to my Tracking list and it felt like forever, I sort've wish they put it on the Wii but I doubt it will happen.
To many good animes are made in to craptastic fighters.
Pokemon - mmorpg
Yu Yu Hakusho - (multiplayer 1-4) action adventure
Rurouni Kenshin - action adventure
Naruto - (multiplayer-1-3) action adventure/rpg
