$400 40GB PS3 With Spidey 3 Blu-Ray Pack-In?

I think this is good news for new owners but I don't see why Lemmings or sheep etc... wouldn't jump all over this. This is good for someone like me who doesn't own it although I won't buy a PS3 that doesn't have a game bundle with a GOOD game....

I think if this happened with the 360 cows would be screaming milkage because what about the early adopters.

There was now a 20GB version 2 60GB's a different price points, a 80GB and now a 40GB all in the space of a year? And weren't cows bashing lemmings for the sku's...? I don't see how this isn't deserving of the same fanboy attention :P

I would so pissed if I just bought the new 60GB with the price drop and the learn I could have saved even more if I waited a couple of months... where they would give another price drop. They should offer something to people who bought early systems like a free game or something.

AFter all Microsoft came out and said they EXPECTED there to be a $399 PS3 this holiday season. That's why they dropped the price of their hardware.

Question is WHEN is this pricecut going to come in. If it comes in with Halo3 launch.....that could be great news for PS3. If not it'll be intresting to see what people go with X360/Halo3 and which will wait for the cheaper PS3 price.

The only part of Spiderman 3 that sucked was the venom stuff. It was a great finale to a fun trilogy of movies. It seems the people that hated it thought it'd be two hours of only venom, which is marketings fault for hyping it up when it was obvious it would be Sandman's movie for the most part.

I mean it's hardenough for them to drop the price already... there are still taking a consider hit per console on it... and I don't see them taking a bigger hit then they have to... unless they are really desprate...

Early adopters are stupid. Any gamer could look at that game lineup this entire year and would know PS3 wouldn't be worth it until Sept/Oct. If you dropped $600 on one or even $500....well you were basically paying for a BluRay player, everyone except deluded Sony fanboys knew it.

Besides, the PS2 chip will not be included in the new sku and there is no information on whether or not WiFi is included. That alone is a hundred dollars isn't it? So they shouldn't feel like they need a refund if a downgraded sku comes out. They are still getting what they paid for. Also....the new rumble controller is more than likely going to be included in the sku.....are you now going to say Sony should trade those in for free? Come on....

Did you watch the first two? It was pretty much mostly talk, talk, talk, with 2 or 3 action scenes scattered through out.

The story was closure for Peter on the death of uncle ben. The emo humor was poking fun at itself and the trend, if you couldn't see that then you were taking the film waaaayyy too seriously.As far as being consistent with the first two spiderman films, it was just as silly and had just about as much action.

Were you expecting something else after watching the first two?

U cant beat a 40gb ps3 for $399. That alone is better then anything MS has to offer because even the 40gb will have bluray in it so that would sell like hot cakes. Rather have that with some awesome games already out for the ps3 and more before the holiday season, atleast these users wont have to worry about the rings of death. :)

Early adopters still got the Emotion Engine enabled PS3s, so they won something out of it.

I loved Spider-man 3, why so much hate for it :(? It got very good critic reviews and record breaking sales in the box office as well.

Anyways, this will be a brilliant move for Sony if it turns out to be true. I thinkSony will sell alot of consoles with the $399 model.

Why dont Sony sell the Ps3 without any Hardrive, i eman if the OS system is in the memory (not on the hardrive) then sell a Ps3 with out it and let people buy by themselves whatever hard drive they want..i know you can change the hardrive just with some specifcs and they work..why dont do that and sell the machine on the 350 dls mark...(well if its feasible the idea) i know they will loose some money but people will gain and buy the system on that price..later on if you want to had a big Harddrive just buy whatever your flavor like...

Not really, 2GB is small for the kind of content they are offering and they are only paying around $25-30 for HDDs as is.
