"No actual numbers have been released" but they'll take a stab at it. Nice.
Tell me when this is real news. Thank you.

Obviously still better than M$ 100% defective hardware rate. And this only affects the models in that region correct?

Yes, it's only there. Sony will handle it, if they haven't already.

I wouldn't go against that.
Really? You wouldn't?
"No actual numbers have been made available so far, so it's unclear whether this is simply a case of a single retailer receiving a batch of dud consoles or whether this is a more sizeable problem along the lines of the infamous 360 three red lights issue. "
You should really try to go against that, you'll never get a better chance lol

Yet... your Xbox 360 hasn't broken down yet... ;)

The 40GB is using a smaller chip and less cooling is needed.
Obviously something is wrong with the revised design :| the 20gig,60gig, and 80gig have been pretty much flawless..

Yes, but what they are saying has nothing to do with heat.
Here is what I find absolutely hilarious.
Lemmings deny the %30 failure rate because they claim nobody can prove it and because the only quote is from some gamespots.
But a single source from some store in belgium says they had %40 returned for failure and suddenly the PS3 has massive world wide failures!
quote/link to all the people saying that? Here is what I find absolutely hilarious.

Yup I think ZIM just sees what he wants to see. Lems everywhere and knives in the shadows for the PS3. No one was saying that.

No it isn't. Unless the article I read where Sony stated they're using the same chip as the other model was not the same chip we're talking about here.

What does this story have to do with the XBox 360? Absolute nothing. Stop trying to deflect the problem to another console. No one knows what the fail rate is on the XBox 360, but M$. There are no official numbers released. There are still many people who still have their original XBox 360 that has never failed. So no, it's not 100%. Even with a fail rate, the XBox 360 is still outselling the PS3 month after month. So obviously people care more about the games then a fail rate on the console.
[QUOTE="angryfodder"]As there is no decent games on the PS3, no one has ever played one long enough to break one

I've got 16 games so please stop saying that stupid there are no games crap. Thanks!
If you were the average for Software to Hardware ratio, I can guarentee you Sony would be laughing themselves to sleep every night.

No, I think people are waiting for a more creditable source. I'd curious as to if this is happening in other countries as well. It's possible that Belgium just got a bad batch of systems, but we'll have to wait and see. No one is jumping to conclusions yet. As I said because, most people buying the XBox 360 aren't worried about the fail rate when you have a 3 year warranty. ;)

So there hasn't been a bunch of posts from 360 fanboys denying the failure rate of the 360 and claiming the word of a few stores is not proof?
I guess I imagined those threads.

Which part did I invent? The part where 360 fanboys deny the high 360 failure rate, or the part where now people are claiming a %40 PS3 failure rate for the exact same reasons they claimed were notproof ofthe 360 problems?
