that's not milkage.
If anything its "stringing along" (because MS doesn't realse manyother high qulaity exclusives for fans to choose from) but not milkage. If people like halo they will enjoy another version being relased and it doesn't cost anymore then any other new game being released.
How is it worse than CoD? There are even more CoD titles released in the same time frame.2009: Halo Wars + ODST

Easy to look at numbers isn't it?
2009: Halo Wars
RTS and bombed hard. Isn't even a FPS game either and doesn't hold a candle to the first three games. While it has "Halo" in it's name, it's nothing like the other halo games.
2009: ODST
Most of the fans I know were dissapointed with ODST. It didn't even seem like a full game to me, I'd consider this game to be milkage. It's about the same thing you'd get when switching from MW to MW2. Short campaign, some new MP features, few updates here and there and that's about it.
2010: Halo Reach
Complete graphics overhaul and most of the engine was redesigned. To increase replay value the developers improved the AI and instead of scripted encounters the developer focused on open world aproach battles. The game is comparible to Halo 3 but it's a true improvement to the series. If you went back to playing Halo 3 from Halo reach it'd feel completely different.
2011: Halo Ani
Remake of the first halo, huge improvements again. Milkage? Meh it's a HD remake of a game released like 10 years ago. Where's the milkage at exactly?
2012: Halo 4
Two years from Halo reach, last full fledged new halo game being reach.
Now lets look at Call of duty
2007: Call Of duty: Modern Warefare:
Huge improvement from Call of duty 2 and arguably the best Call of duty in the entire series. Pretty much everything about this game was new.
2008: Call of duty: World at War
Basically MW1 but set in World war 2. Minor updates to the game engine and a zombie mode added in.
2009: Call of duty: Modern warefare 2:
Minor updates to engine, better visuals but again pretty much everything stayed the same. Short campaign, some MP tweaks and a nice co-op side mode added in.
2010: Call of duty: Black Ops
Minor updates to engine, better visuals but yet again pretty much everything stayed the same. Sure you got a new campaign but how much really changed from the previous titles? The MP remained largely the same, just different kill streak rewards and a bit more customization options while throwing in the WaW zombie mode.
2011: Call of duty: Modern warefare 3
Isn't out yet but it's looking to basically be the same as the previous titles. Minor tweaks, engine updates.
Now ask yourself, how much much Call of Duty has really changed from CoD4 to CoD MW3? Where's the milkage in halo at? ODST and Anniversary? You aren't buying the same damn game every year with halo.

Halo wars was made by a completely different company, and its an RTS game. ODST was a spinoff, mind you it may have been $60, it was still a spinoff.
Reach was a full game yes.
Halo Aniversary is a remake.
Halo 4 will actually be the next full fledge Halo game, Making the main franchise game gap 2 years.
COD however, new games of the same thing over and over. At least each Halo game is different

Let's total this up shall we?
Halo Series:
Halo - 2001 (Bungie)
Halo 2 - 2004 (Bungie)
Halo 3 - 2007 (Bungoe)
Halo Wars - 2009 (Ensemble Studios)
Halo 3: ODST - 2009 (Bungie)
Halo: Reach - 2010 (Bungie)
Halo: Anniversary - 2011 (343 Studios)
Halo 4 - 2012 (343 Studios)
In total Halo will have seen 8 releases by the end of next year (if Halo 4 doesn't see delays) and will have been worked on by a total of 3 developers. Not that bad considering the series started back in 2001 on the original Xbox. So in 11 years it'll have 8 games by 3 different developers.
Call of Duty series:
Call of Duty - 2003 (Infinity Ward)
Call of Duty: United Offensive - 2004 (Grey Matter Interactive)
Call of Duty: Finest Hour - 2004 (Spark Unlimited)
Call of Duty 2 - 2005 (Infinity Ward)
Call of Duty 2: Big Red One - 2005 (Gray Matter Interactive, Treyarch, Pi Studios)
Call of Duty 3 - 2006 (Treyarch, Pi Studios)
Call of Duty: Roads to Victory - 2007 (Amaze Entertainment)
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - 2007 (Infinity Ward)
Call of Duty 4: Moder Warfare (DS) - 2007 (n-Space)
Call of Duty: World at War - 2008 (Treyarch)
Call of Duty: World at War: Final Fronts - 2008 (Rebellion)
Call of Duty: World at War (DS) - 2008 (n-Space)
Call of Duty: ZOMBIES - 2009 (Ideaworks)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - 2009 (Infinity Ward)
Call of Duty 2: Modern Warfare 2: Mobilized - 2009 (n-Space)
Call of Duty: Classic - 2009 (Infinity Ward, Aspyr)
Call of Duty: Black Ops - 2010 (Treyarch)
Call of Duty: Black Ops (DS) - 2010 (n-Space)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - 2011 (Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer, Raven Software)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3: Defiance (DS) - 2011 (n-Space)
Well this certainly looks like alot more! Starting all the way back in 2003 (I also cut out a few ports and mobile versions) Call of Duty has seen 21 releases (by the end of this year, Halo's count stops at the end of NEXT year) and has been handled by a grand total of 12 developers. So 21 games in 8 years by 12 different developers.

No, CoD Is worse in every conceivable category.. including "milkage"
Big rigs over the road racing is better.
I consider no game releases to be "milking". It's called supply & demand. As a CoD player, I expect a CoD game every year and Activision provides it. As a Battlefield fan, I expect a game every year (of some sort, expansion or something) and EA provides it. As an occasional Sims fan, I expect EA to provide some sort of expansion each year.
So sure, if one doesn't like a game/series, they're going to call it milking; however, for those of us who enjoy said games it's not a problem.
Get over yourselves guys.
I think Capcom has re-released Street Fighter 2 and Resident Evil then Microsoft has released Halo titles total. How about Guitar Hero, Mario 64, Zelda OOT, EA Sports titles and Tony Hawk? Or Metal Gear?

*Hands you a PhD*
lol I guess the argument is over TC?
No no man you cant talk about Halo, if its halo they can milk err develope as more as they want but Call of Duty? hell Nwo!
While I'm not the biggest Halo fan, I did load up the first one and play through that about a month ago with a friend. It has never come off as something that was particularly 'milked'.
ODST and Reach came out fairly close to each other but other than that there have been huge gaps in their releases. Call of Duty, on the other hand, genuinely feels as though it's popularity bubble is about to explode (or has exploded) a la Guiter Hero.
[QUOTE="Heil68"]Fans asked for those games, so it's ok. WTA2k5
I think sales would indicate that Call of Duty sequels were "asked for."
Yes they were, so Activision supply that demand. Good for them!Fans actually want it. Gamers actually want Halo. But with every franchise, there are looming haters everywhere. Halo's actually a very good franchise and there's the Halo Universe which makes it so interesting. On top of that, at least they tried to do something with Halo with Halo Wars... And Halo Anniversary is a tribute to fans; we asked for it and they answered.Elann2008
This is what I don't understand. How can you claim that gamers don't want Call of Duty games when they've been selling extremely well? Clearly people still do want Call of Duty, otherwise the franchise wouldn't be doing as well as it is.
