This is kind of off topic but has anyone else noticed that the PC version of Mass Effect is pretty crappy compared to the 360 version? I have both and I'm playing through the PC version for the first time and it looks like there wasn't much effort put into the port job.

It's really glitchy for one thing. Also, even though I can max it out at 1920x1200 I still think the 360 version looks more detailed. mainly when it comes to close ups on the character's faces.

Is it all patched up? Latest firmware? I can't explain why there would be more glitches than the 360 version.

Also, even though I can max it out at 1920x1200 I still think the 360 version looks more detailed. mainly when it comes to close ups on the character's faces.Zero5000X

Hmm. I doubt they removed graphical fidelity for the PC version, so you're probably just imagining that. :P

well it made my PC crash about 6 times yesterday but apparently that is because Mass Effect doesn't run well with an overclocked CPU even though I've never had a problem with any other game that's in existence. I did the one main mission today where you have to rescue liara and most of the outside ground was just giant black squares for some reason. i couldn't finish one of the side quests cause the guy i'm supposed to turn it in to magically vanished. just lots of glitches. the only problem i've ever experienced with the 360 version was texture pop-ins.

There's one face that glitches and uses low-rez textures (Garrus) But otherwise, none of the assets were changed from 360 to pc, meaning they shouldn't look worse.

Yeah, I can't explain any of those problems. :P According to XFire, I've played ME PC for 124 hours, but in that time, the biggest problem I've had was a little stuttering when loading areas. I guess you've just got some tough luck, eh?

Well a lot of work was put in to design it around PC, with the GUI. However graphically, I think basically just increased resolutions. Plus complete lack of texture pop-in = win for me.

I only had one glitch while playing, and that was no sound in the casino area. Otherwise, there wasn't any other glitches.
