It is always about the games
For example i plan to get one for Bravely Default
And of course DS games i have missed and Zelda
Thanks for making it so my Nintendo ill think releaing games without evolving them is a good idea for another gen, they need people like you running the company. Not really. Also, Sonic and Mario and the olympic games? Really?1.

Because sheep rebuy the 3DS again and again......to rise the numbers.AtariKidXIt's all part of the plan.
system is good I give you a 4 out of 5 because the clamshell is bad, I don't understad how they f***ed up something they were first to implement with the GBA SP and DS lol1. Affordability Yes
2. Games Yes
3. Support Yes
4. Size Yes
5. Clamshell design is superior for portibility but causes damage to the sytem itself so I need to find a better point then this.

Exactly. The most important reason why it's selling well is because it's $169 and a DS successor. It's been selling well ever since the price cut, even though there were only a couple good games available then. It's because it's quite cheap now

Now obviously good games don't hurt, but the software attach rate for the 3DS is quite low (45.42 Million games / 17.13 million consoles). A lot of people are buying 3DSs and not buying games for it. I'm in that category, myself.
So far, it's a stark contrast to the DS (900.31 million games / 151.52 million consoles) and the Wii (818.46 million games / 95.85 million consoles).

The attach rate thing is common when a system is only 1 year old, it always rises with time. Think about it, the active users out of those 17m units sold will continue to purcahse software for the system for years to come, and thus increase the attach rate.

I'm sure it will start to correct itself over time. But when the DS was a little over a year old, it had sold 60.44 million games / 16.73 million consoles [http://ds.ign.com/articles/710/710091p1.html]. So the 3DS is undertracking in software sales, but I'm not saying it's a complete disaster or anything -- I just think the biggest driver of sales right now is probably the price of the hardware itself and the DS backlibrary.[QUOTE="SuperFlakeman"]

Sure, it's a legitimate concern, maybe it'll get back on track once they start releasing some games outside Japan :P
Also when DS was a little over a year, it had two holidays in NA/JP as opposed to one holiday period for 3DS, probably explains alot.
yeah sony doesn't get it, if you want facebook or twitter you will use the much better app on your phone and the sad thing is the vita has a terrible web browser even compared to cheap phones, so sony really needs to get some good games out for it to do well. It's selling because of the GAMES... (Not Skype, FaceBook, or Twitter... SONY)
