# Fatal1ty is a world class soccer player, which is great and all, but not that special when you take into account that the world's best source of athletes ( America ) doesn't even encourage their best athletes to play that sport.

JzkBoxer

Which means what exactly? Most american sports aren't played by half the world and you still have the temerity to call many series "world" series???

Soccer is played by the majority of the world.

To call yourself the best at "soccer" means a hell of a lot more than any US centric sport, played by and only for americans.

What I was saying was that soccer is a 3rd or 4th class sport here in the U.S., therefore our athletes don't compete in it, and if the Olympics are any indication, the U.S. is far and away the leader in producing athletes in summer sports. If our best athletes played and were trained their entire life in soccer, we'd dominate the sport on a scale never seen before. Why am I so confident in that? Probably because our 3rd and 4th class athletes are hanging in there against the other countries' best.

The US is NOT far and away the leader in the olympics, look at China only marginally behind you and has been catching up fast. Take a look at Athens 2004 chart table. This table demolishes your idea of american supremacy at Olympics, the US is only marginally ahead.

Now here's the logic, combine all the soccer playing nations totals against the US and you'll see the world destroys the US in terms of medals earned at the olympics. The world plays soccer, therefore an athlete in soccer can justifiably call himself a world beater, since he plays regularly against world opponents.

The same can't be said for american sports. An american sport athlete cannot lay claim to be a world beater since he does not compete against the world.

Dude, have you ever watched American sports? I have yet to see a European athlete that can keep up with some of the faster players in the NFL, or even college football.

By the way, as for the summer olympics: I think we just took every last medal in swimming again.

I know plenty of players who could easily hold their own in terms of speed aganst US opponents.

When it comes to world sports the reason why the US doesn't compete is because it is average at them.

Kenyans owning your runners as usual.

soccer requires ALOT more speed and stamina than american football. reaching 280 pounds just involves stuffing your face, and europeans don't find that very attractice. Im not saying football players are unskilled, im just saying europeans could play it if they wanted to. plus, they play rugby.

all we have is american football thats american only, baseball is HUGE in japan.

Seriously, why do they think we don't care when they beat us at soccer? I'll tell you why, because the fact that our 3rd and 4th string athletes are hanging with them is a victory in itself.

:| The US soccer team is rubbish. It just got knocked out in the opening rounds of the Copa America, they're not "hanging out" with anyone, apart from hanging out in some bar drowing their sorrows.

Take off your patriotic glasses, they're blinding you from the truth.

Show me a soccer player that can keep up with this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8dyZ8kEBg4&mode=related&search=

Or this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUx9ix-CxbM

If you can do that, I'll be more than happy to agree with you. Seriously, LMFAO @ The rest of the world.

Name one European athlete that can run the 40 in 4.3 seconds, because I can name about 5 from the U.S.

ROFL @ This European delusion. Keep cleaning up against our 4th string guys, whatever makes you feel better! LOL

I highly doubt that if you poured your hearts out to be the best in the world at Rugby you would be anywhere near the Australians. You may have a chance in cricket, another one of those world sports that Americans hate, but I doubt it. It's like soccer, you would not stand any chance at all in becoming the anywhere near the top of the world merely because all these sports don't have the fans in them that they do in other countries.

Fans are the ones that bring money to the games, that pay the athletes and that make those athletes better.

America is made up of - gasp! - immigrants, many of which came from Europe. Americans are inherently no better or worse than anyone else at athletics. And this is coming from an American himself.

Here's a Rugby player called Jonah Lomu. Video 2

He doesn't wear weakling body armour and takes bruising tackles like childs play. LMFAO @ US athletes, especially football players.

Your weakling players wouldn't survive one game of rugby.

Bottom line: You know why the European countries don't compete with us in football? Easy, they're inferior and afraid of the 10 touchdown azz spanking that would be laid down on them on every occasion. LMFAO @ The slow, unathletic continent of Europe.

No, it's an example of one individual's ignorance. America as a whole is diverse with close-minded and open-minded individuals alike.

America = The home of the world's best athletes. Period. Anyone who disagrees with this obviously knows NOTHING about sports. This isn't even a debate, and anyone who's knowledgeable on this subject would agree with you.

I'm aware that Americans are mostly a good natured non egotistical crowd. However the egotistical crowd makes far more of an impact on other peoples minds than the nonegotistical crowd. Hate is a lot easier to feel than love. (I'm not saying that anyone hates Americans, it is a metaphor)

everybody hates americans 0_o, and for good reason. I was in japan the other week and the american tourists over there (im american too) are the most annoying, snobbiest, and moronic looking crowd of people over therie. You got rich white kids who don't know any japanese walking into stores asking for dierections in plain english, assuming everyone should know their language. and on the trains and buses they dont stfu.
