As much as its true that the tablet was a horrible move, saying that they should remove it to fix the issue is like saying that Sony should have removed the Cell from the next batch of PS3s after the low sales. Not gonna happen.I think they should bite the bullet and kill off the tablet, there is no real need or want for it. Then they could sell the system pretty cheap and concentrate on pumping out great 1st party games to be played with the pro controller.

It's not the same at all. The tablet could simply be removed. Removing teh cell would have required a complete hardware redesign. Your comparison is flawed and holds no weight.
Â
I'm not saying they would ever remove the tablet but it's the only way I see them being truly competitive with the competition. I.E. a much cheaper option than the nextbox/PS4 with the great Nintendo 1st party games that lots of people like. This could be attractive to people who just want a cheap gaming machine and also to people who own other systems but would also like a second or third system to go with them.

No, Its the same, the tablet is hard coded into the wii u. not to mention how would you fix the issue of the games which already support it? drop the tablets, stop their production and people who get those games cant play it anymore?I think it's doing ok. They are getting more third party support everyday and they already have all the bigger name games. As soon as the Nintendo games start rolling in (ala Wonderful 101, Bayonetta 2, etc etc.) you'll have people start buying it more and more. I predict a 3DS type of situation. They are making a profit on every Console sold right now, so that's something that pretty much guarantees that they are fine.

What do you mean it's "Hard Coded" into the system? It could easily be removed with a MOBO revision and a new system firmware/OS. Nothing major at all.
Â
Obviously there would be certain issues with people who have already bought it and games that use it. However there aren't too many games that do really need it and there aren't that many people who own the Wii U full stop. These issues could be worked around and doing it sooner rather than later would be a lot smoother.

The tablet just makes the system far too expensive for what it offers and I think that will be even more apparent when it has to fight with the other two.

I would probably say that the number one thing they have to do is release some new great games. Obviously they literally JUST did with Monster Hunter Ultimate and Lego City Undercover, so that's a good step. But the system itself is solid. It's powerful, has an awesome and unique controller, and hey...it's made by Nintendo. All wins there! It really just needs games. The "new console launch" woes need to end now. Luckily we know that there are some great games coming soon and there are probably only a ton of surprises we are still waiting for. When those come, after E3, the system should be poised to start rocking and rolling. Personally I'm quite excited. :D
