lol 30 fps, lol ps4

I will go with pc, 1080p, 60 fps. The fact that these consoles cant get close to that for most games, especially the X1, is unacceptable to me.
@tormentos: wtf are you even talking about?
Ok this thread is about consoles and which you prefer 720p max out or struggling 1080p.
The dude i quote which is a closet lemming by the way,say 720p maxt out high frame >>>>> 1080p low settings low frames.
The problem with this ^^ is that on xbox one because of having a weak GPU you can't ax out and have high frames, and since the PS4 has a higher roof can do 1080p at higher than low settings.
Thats all.
...
No seriously, wtf are you talking about?
900p maxed is fine with me.
Depends though. For whatever reason I notice 30fps easier on PC than I do on console. The 1080p 30fps on PS4 really doesn't bother me.
But I have to have at least 45fps on PC.
And always vsync.
720p maxed out of course & maintaining stable framerate like 60fps...over struggling 1080p detail level drop & cannot maintain a stable framerate. :P
Any gamer who prefers playing a game to watching one should take performance over graphics 100% of the time.
A fair argument would be 720p maxed out vs 1080p reduced graphics. In which case I would vote 1080p every time. I have never played a game below native resolution, I would much rather play a game with reduced graphics at a full IQ setting than a high graphics game muddled by blurry or low IQ.
Just mentioning 'struggling' 1080p puts a very negative impression on the vote.
I want a solid framerate and no screen tearing. If that means 720p, so be it. If the game chugs, tears, and looks like crap, then 1080p doesn't mean anything.
i guess i choose resolution. frame rates to me dont matter as long as they stay above 30. but resolution is not something i can deal with below 1080
I can take lower resolution if the payoff is something like more destructible environments, better special effects, better lighting effects, shadows, better physics etc. I care less about if framerate is 30fps or 60fps but steady locked framerate is a preferrence.
Especially in 2005 that the 360 owned $2000 machines
4k maxed out and 60fps
anything less hurts my eyes and makes me dizzy
consoles are probably 2 gens away from that
So how did you survive until last year? You must have vomited a lot back when PC games were 320x200. 1080p didn't even become the "standard" until about 2010, and even then a lot of people were still rocking 1680x1050. 60 fps smooth gameplay was never a guarantee either, especially back in the day where devs pushed hardware at every chance they got. Crysis must have infuriated you since there wasn't a PC on the market that could play Crysis at max 60fps at even 1080p in 2007.
These kind of statements are absolutely ridiculous.

I agree his statement is ridiculous. But, don't ignore 1280x1024 and 1600x1200 which were common enough by the time the Battlefield games came along.
Compared to 1600x900 and 1920x1080, I thought the above two resolutions looked better. I still keep around a 1280x1024 LCD monitor and games on it look noticeably better than on a more recent 1600x900 monitor.
@whalefish82: Hard to argue with you. After playing witcher3 on PC at 60 fps then getting it on sale on console its the smoothness that stands out most to me.
When playing on consoles you have to compromise somewhere.
I've just played Quantum Break at 720p on a 50" TV and it looked fantastic and I'm glad they did it this way.
If you want 1080p or higher and top level performance/effects the only answer is PC and this will always be the case.
720p maxed out, 60fps.
What about some low settings+medium settings+1 high setting and 720p? That's what the Bone is aiming for anyways.

True. Quantum Flop is running at 720p and 30fps and definitely not what you would call max settings. 720p in 2016 is a joke.
In terms of graphics I suppose it would be fine, but aren't there plenty of resolutions inbetween or is this just consoles where it's one or the other.
With me, I'm fine keeping the resolution at 1080p on my PC, but it's important to me to drop graphical settings to get a smooth 60 frames per second in as many games as I can.

Yes, QB still has framerate drops.
