What would you get if you had 600$ to spend and I already have a 360 and don't care what games are multiplat

Do you have pleanty of CPU power and RAM? Get the card. If not, the Ps3.MegaPigeon
Agree. I like your sig:lol:
If you already have a 360 then get the PS3. Most PC games are also out for the 360. Elviathan
no they arent....the PC has far more exclusives then the 360. In fact most of the AA games the PC has gotten this year (and there have been a ton) have been exclusive.
Depends upon your existing PC (you wouldn't want a bottleneck), but if that holds up the 8800GTX for sure.
The PC is overflowing with quality games right now (a 9.5 just yesterday, and more AAAs this gen then all consoles combined) whereas the PS3 is off to a very slow start in it's games library.
With the big hitters on the PC team coming up to bat later this year, it's hard to deny the value of it's library.

Actually, that's the other way around, the PC has more exclusive games than any other system.
If you can, forget the 8800GTX and get two 8800GTSes and SLI them together. Generally better performance at higher resolutions.
Personally, though, I'll wait for the 9-Series.
Depends... if you want something that last 10 years or 10 months. Okay not really but in a few months that card will quickly degrade in value when 9800 comes out and then so on until a pos in a couple years. On the other hand the ps3 could watch movies and well unless u dont have an hdtv than is pointless.darkjounin
The 8800GTX will devalue no faster than the PS3, it's just your able to upgrade it much sooner. You'll be able to run games on that card for about as long as the PS3 is around.

The PS3 can watch movies?!?!

I know. Who knew they could make a console that actually watches the movies with you. It's like your buddy.

and your actually considering which one to get?
your PC would kill crysis several times over if you added a 8800GTX....in fact you could probably run several copies of the game at once if it actually allowed you to do that.

Get the card and you got yourself a dream rig right there. Trust me you won't regret it as soon as you see the nuke go off in WiC.

For some reason, I don't believe you.
I got a Q6600 with 3 gigs of ram, 2 x 300 gig drives in a Raid-0 config, but I only have a 7350LE graphicas card cause I use it for multimedia applications and other stuff but not games.

How big of a leap is there between a GTX and a GTS?
How much longer would a GTX last you and how much better would it run Crysis than a GTS?

Depends can you wait until November/December? The 9800 GTX is supposedly a beast with more processing power than theBOTH thePS3 AND Xbox 360 combined. If it lives up to the rumor, is still yet to be determined. 1 TerraFLOP is a rediculous level of processing power though and thats what it is supposed to have. Imagine the jump between thenVidia 6800 and the 7800 and you will get a general comparison of the two(as far as we know. It may not turn out that way though).
Coming from you?!?!?!?!?! Really?!?!?!?! If you have a good cpu, mem get it. And they are $480 @ 610/2000: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127281Get the PS3,

I will put this simply. If you buy the 640mb edition of the GTS you SHOULD (according to Crytek) run Crysis on Ultra-high DX10 at 1280*1024 at a stable30FPS. The GTX will run it at resolutions higher than the GTS, but otherwise the difference is negligible. Also, look that the difference between the 7800 GTS and the 7800 GTX. both still hold up very well and they only differ by a few FPS.

I hope it runs on a 550 psu. I read on some sites recommendations for a 600 psu for a 8800gts for optimal performance.
If you look at the XFX 8800gts OC at TigerDirect it recommends a 600 Watt psu for single and a 700 for SLI
