96% at GameRankings, which was the best IYO? ***POLL***

With 25 or greater reviews, these 5 last generation games settled in at about 96% (high AAA) at GameRankings (the Big Critical Picture).

Which was your favorite, IYO do any of them not belong there, and are any of these games worthy of buying a system for?

Halo and Resident Evil 4.

If I had to say one, I'd say Halo

I realize Soul Calibur is at a disadvantage but the game (like the fighter it is) earned its stripes to be here.

Halo for sure. Only reason i bought HL2 is for the mods.

Yeah I see Metroid as a FPS adventure/exploration game its less action oriented. But yeah I think they are all deserving AAA games.

Really need to be played by anyone who has the slightest interest in FPS games and they are all system sellers IMO.

RE4 aswell but that became multiplat so its not in the "system seller" list.

p.s. Havent played SC for the DC but know I feel bad after reading some reviews :(

Wrong. Soul Calbur has a VS mode. That's why I got about 400 hours out of it.

I didn't play the xbox for the first 10 months it was out mearly because I was a strict Nintendo fan. Fortunately, one of my co-workers invited me over to his place to play some Halo co-op and to try out Morrowind on the Xbox. Within the week, I had gone out and purchased a xbox SOLELY for Halo only to find that the genre that I enjoy the most (FPS) would be supported the most on the xbox (for a console). Nedemis

Strangely, your experience was similar to mine. I was a strict PC Gamer (since January 1997) who had no interest in console games until I played my nephew's Metroid Prime. At that point I realized I was wrong in snubbing console games, and I promptly went out and bought a GC and my first (and still fav) console game, Metroid Prime.

Because people don't know they need to stop playing a game which doesn't allow them to move while doing anything?

Resident Evil 4 and Soul Calibur are the best. Halo should not be up there. The only reason I didn't say HL2 is the best, is that I never realy played it for too long, only the demo. Metroid Prime looks good, but nothing special, if you ask me.ShmenonPie

man I love everyone of those games!!

even though I love Soul calibur (fav fighter ever!) a fighting game can never compare to the others

HL2, halo resi 4 and MP are all in my Top Ten of all time

but for me I would say Metroid Prime....just

1-Halo
2-Half Life 2
3-Resident Evil
4-Metroid Prime
5-Soul Calibur

Personally SC shouldnt be as high up there, all those 10s were a bit much

The best was Metroid Prime, and games that don't deserve a 96% would be Halo:CE and RE4.

Halo: CE was a decent game, but was definately not the revolutionary title people make it out to be. It influenced a lot of other shooters with it's popularity, but it didn't really do anything new. RE4...Excellent graphics, decent sound and even with that you have yourself a solid 7.5-8.0. The story was weak, the gameplay lacking, the script and voice acting were pathetic, but at least there was some replay value...
