The best was Metroid Prime, and games that don't deserve a 96% would be Halo:CE and RE4..
Halo: CE was a decent game, but was definately not the revolutionary title people make it out to be. It influenced a lot of other shooters with it's popularity, but it didn't really do anything new. RE4...Excellent graphics, decent sound and even with that you have yourself a solid 7.5-8.0. The story was weak, the gameplay lacking, the script and voice acting were pathetic, but at least there was some replay value...

People, Halo is not great for doing "something new," it's great for being a magnificent harmony of a lot of great things all done well at the same time.

well summarised
wow, left for a little while, and the Poll gained 80 votes, Halo is still in the lead but it has dropped down to 31% of total vote.
Get your votes in, personally, I felt all these were high quality titles, though I do think 96% is a bit high (for me) for Halo.
[QUOTE="Nedemis"]I didn't play the xbox for the first 10 months it was out mearly because I was a strict Nintendo fan. Fortunately, one of my co-workers invited me over to his place to play some Halo co-op and to try out Morrowind on the Xbox. Within the week, I had gone out and purchased a xbox SOLELY for Halo only to find that the genre that I enjoy the most (FPS) would be supported the most on the xbox (for a console). AFBrat77
Strangely, your experience was similar to mine. I was a strict PC Gamer (since January 1997) who had no interest in console games until I played my nephew's Metroid Prime. At that point I realized I was wrong in snubbing console games, and I promptly went out and bought a GC and my first (and still fav) console game, Metroid Prime.
LOL, pc gamer turned to a sad sheep? sorry, really hard to believe you were a strict pc gamer.

Most definitely was, my first games were Diablo, Quake, Tomb Raider, Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2, Heroes of Might and Magic 2, and a game called Rama.
Metroid Prime at the very least belongs in the same group as some of those greats. I'm still as much a PC Gamer as Sheep, even more so, I play Guild Wars every night almost.
im torn between prime and HL2. im siding with prime though simply because i prefer adventure games. i know thats the one id pick up if i had to choose. thankfully i have both and love em to bits :D.osan0
That was my choices as well, Prime won out for me also.

Diablo was the reason I got heavily into gaming to begin with, it was my first game. Addictive as hell, and it still is the highest rated PC game at GS i believe.
Wow, we are pushing 400 votes now, as I said before, the Halo fans are out in force, no doubt looking for news on Halo 3. Still at 30% of vote.
