A Beloved somewhat Recent Microsoft IP is getting Bold Second Title

Klobrille strikes again via Twitter-

"A beloved Xbox IP game you have probably played in the last 4 years or so will get its bold second title in next-gen. The successor is deep in development and I expect you will hear about it around 2020."

Could be something as meh as Killer Instinct or maybe really cool like a Quantum Break 2 maybe the masterminds here can help try to figure it out.

Bare in mind Ryse and Sunset Overdrive IPs are not owned by MS/

I really like the sound of that. I would love to see another Killer Instinct game, the last one was great. I’d even love to see a Quantum Break 2 as I really enjoyed that game as well.

A new Killer Instinct game would be a nice welcome and please, don't turn it into another free-to-play title and make it a fully game.

A Killer Instinct sequel (with PC crossplay) would be great.

But please, turn off auto-combos on online, or allow it to be pre-set "off" for both parties That shit was straight up game-killing.

Could do with being minimized as well, getting locked into multiple guessing games was a slog.

Doesn't Killer Instinct already have more than one title? Unless there are counting this as a reboot to the the last.

Might be Recore 2. Not sure how beloved that was. I didn't finish it but was fun for a bit.

I am hoping for Quantum Break 2, and would love to see what they could do without the TV segments. It was a great action game not a 3rd person cover shooter that some critics reviewed it as.

I kinda hope it's something like ReCore 2... the original had a lot of potential, and with a bit of TLC and a bigger budget/longer dev time, I think it could be a great franchise for Xbox.

And of course Sunset Overdrive 2 would be awesome, but can't see that happening (Insomniac will be all Spiderman for the foreseeable future I expect).

The Current Killer Instinct is a reboot of the series & Killer Instinct & Killer Instinct Gold have been retained some of the plots from the previous series. The fact Killer Instinct was launch for Xbox One back in 2013, it was a free-to-play and not a full fledged game, it took way too long to set new season content and so with that, the game suffer for being an Xbox One exclusive for a very long time and by the time it found it's way to PC, everyone moved on and lost support.

ReCore on the other hand, the game flop and I don't expect to see a sequel cause MS wasn't happy how that game turn out.

Edit: I'm glad you talk about ReCore, cause I got that game on Steam this pass September and totally forgot that game is in my library, I need to play that game soon.

The guy or gal for as far as we know has been a pretty trust worthy source. Leaked the Obsidion acquisition first among other things that have come to pass. Obviously works in the industry.

Anyways we will see, the tweet is so random that in 2020 almost any MS game could be seen to fit the vagueness of it.

I wish it were Sunset Overdrive. Wasn't an MS IP... then again it was rumored they might buy out one of those third parties always making Sony games but not a Sony owned studio. If it were Insomniac, and MS acquired them, then that would make it an MS IP. Oh I could only hope. But, I should check my expectations, just assume it's something like a Screamride sequel.

I too was thinking what if MS got Crytek or Insomniac? then those would be MS IPs but really doubt it.

I’m gonna plump (out) for Kameo, the ‘last 4 years’ part referencing rare replay. That or some highly regarded indie game I can’t think off... maybe SO would make some sense too.
