[QUOTE="supercats12"]I honestly don't think he understands the difference between "fanboy" and a gamer who just prefers a certain system.[QUOTE="xboxdevil"][QUOTE="SaintBlaze"]Oh and btw, why do you assume everyone who posts on this board is a fanboy? :|xboxdevil
I know what the difference is. Fanboys feel a extra layer of atchment to their console and manufacter of choice and exsibit(sp) more aggresiveness/comptivness than the average casual gamer. While a gamer who pefers a certain system is content with there choice and don't feel any emotional attachment to their console.
Okay, let me give you my defintion. A fanboy is a goof who is absolutley in love with their platform of choice, and will defend that even when in the wrong. They are blind and oblivious to the faults with their system or exclusive games. And they don't take well to critisism of any kind. A gamer, however, may or may not own multiple systems, and just enjoys playing the damn things. I own 27 game systems. I prefer the 360 because of it's controller and the selection of games that I enjoy playing the most. But I also feel that Halo 3 was grossly over-hyped, and I know that the 360 has hardware failure issues.I also love the PS3 and think that Ratchet and Resistance are two of the best games I've ever played. It is expensive for a game console, but you have to look at what you're getting, and a lot of gamers don't care about that. PS3 is still waiting for that one "killer app" to blow the roof off, and they have a big 2008 coming up. I own the Wii, but not too many games interest me, and most of the games I own for it were bought for my oldest boy and daughter. I do know and accept, whether I like it or not, that the Wii is the hottest selling console on the market.
My PC is where I've been gaming the most here recently, though. I bought a new HP with 3GB RAM, AMD X2 4400 processor, and a 500 GB Hard Drive, put an 8800 GTS card in it and bought a 22" HD monitor for it. Holy crap, this runs like a cadillac. So I've been enjoying a lot of the games I could'nt really play full blast before on my old PC on my new one. And OMG, Crysis is awesome. I can run it smooth with settings at high. I just love this industry. I am a gamer.
I understand what your saying becuse really we are saying the same thing, but what I'm trying to figure out is what drives them. What makes them do the things they do.
