A game that could drastically change the course of the console wars

I just watched this Trailer of Fox's Upcoming Dragon Ball Movie and Im perplexed, the western adaptation of The popular Manga/anime series Dragon Ball appears to be so seamless, its unprecedented. If a Developer was to make Game based in this film, if its done correctly it could certainly have a huge impact on the market depending on which platform(s) its made for.

What new concept for a game could single handedly change the market trends iyo?

Trailer was absolute trash and Fox is going to destory what Dragonball was. Way to get just about everything wrong that has to do with Dragonball Fox... I can only imagine what they'll do to Akira and Ninja Scroll now....kejigoto

Also when was Roshi young and where the hell is Krillin? Plus when did Bulma use pistols like she was Yuna from Final Fantasy X 2? And why doesn't Goku have a tail.... and why isn't he a boy? So many things wrong already, anyone who goes to see this is an idiot and is just wasting $10.

I was never a big fan of Dragon Ball Z but I did use to watch it. But... that didn't seem like Dragon Ball. :? That didn't look right at all.

From what I remember... the Dragon Balls did not grant you ultimate power, but a wish. Isn't that right? :? Although, all the bad guys from what I remember either wanted ultimate power or immortal life.

Here I was thinking GT killed the series and then I watched the trailer. Seriously, Piccolo looks like the freakin spawn child of The Mask and Voldermort.

And to answer your question, a Dragon Ball adaption game will not change the course of this gen. It'll just go into the pile of other half baked movie tie ins.

Everything about this screams bad idea, did those behind this "movie" actually watch the series or do any research at all?

I beg to differ I'd love to play a game based on this film, I can see myself using justin chatwin as a digital character in either a fighter or an RPG game. talking about the film is off topic, I was merely pointing out how good the movie looks and thus the possibility of a translation into a blockbuster titleAgentA-Mi6

I would hate to play a game based on a movie that is based on a series that already has plenty of great games out. How exactly does terrible movie suddenly = good game? Maybe Factor 5 needs to be let in on this cause apparently Alvin and the Chipmunks and Spacechimps video games didn't cash in enough keep them afloat. Also talking about the movie is right on topic because if the movie is bad, how can the game be good?

If a movie is good, typically the game is ok at best, I've seen great movies with terrible games (just check out Iron Man) but suddenly this idea goes the complete opposite and you get a great game from a bad movie? Another issue I see here coming into this is that any Dragonball Movie game will pale in comparsion to the other Dragonball and Dragonball Z games on the market. Fans won't go for it (I for one won't waste another moment on watching this movie nor will I even bother with a game based on this movie) and I certainly don't see those who aren't fans being drawn to this either. If a game based off a movie was going to change the industry and way developers do things it would have already been done and the only game to even come close was Golden Eye for the N64. Sure there are some good movie games, but when was the last time a truly great game came from a movie?

I still believe what I've always believed, anime is animated for a reason, it'd be terrible to see it done in real life and this just furthers my belief in that.

Although, I think this is because the game wasn't based off the movie directly... Just the character, so maybe that's why it was so good.

You really like Dragonball or this is a joke topic. If you want to see a anime related film on the big screen(live action or not), this adaptation of Dragonball isn't it. In fact, the film doesn't even look Japanese! I bet you fail to realize that Gatchaman and Astro Boy are probably the biggest thing from the whole manga/anime scene that have the best chance of being successful on the big screen. Why? They are coming to the threaters in America; the two classic anime series are being adapted into a 3D animated films.

wow....looked even worse than last time I saw it. I am not Dragonball addict, but I know my share of DB stuff....and that is JUST WRONG! Goku is a freaking kid, unless he used a time machine to meet Roshi... Plus is hair should bbe bigger and look natural not full of Gel. Tail? What about the so characteristic SPEED in the fights?That scene in the ropes is freaking slow.

DB should remain ANIME ONLY! If you wan't a freaking movie stick to drawing not freaking real life actors.
