I can't believe they canceled it...Kameo was a great game and still looks amazing and it was a launch game...I bet this would have been good

This is what happens when you purchase a studio whos talent all left under the tutelage of Nintendo.
Microsoft got a shell of a company people should be glad they were able to actually get what they did out of the company.

Kameo was a great game. It just wasn't the type of game the core Xbox audience would buy. Rare would still be a pretty good fit with Nintendo, but Microsoft would just close the studio before that would ever happen.

It seems to me, from what we've seen on these canned projects, that Rare was really struggling with ideas and concepts and finding a way to bring their franchises into a new console generation. Perfect Dark, Kameo, Banjo Kazooie all had pretty major overhauls, like Rare lost the boldness and confidence which they had in their Nintendo days. It's easy to blame Microsoft, and I'm sure a lot of people do, but to me it seems like Rare is/was just lost and couldn't find their place in the world any more. It's sad.Jonzey123

It looks like a person doing shoddy cosplay.

This is what they wanted Kameo 1 to look like for the original/360. But by the time it had moved from the GC, development was too deep in so they didnt change. I guess this is what they also meant by changing Kameo from a fairy to an elf.

Prefer the old but this still would have been day 1.
