a new xbox to be revealed at E3?

in the latest Invisible Wall there's rumor happening about a new xbox and it seems likeley to me.

plus, Microsoft has no first party titles on the horizon after November 2011, while Sony keeps stepping up their exclusive lineup.
Over the past few months devs like Epic and Crytek showed off some of those next gen graphics engines.

as for Crytek's upcoming exclusive on the xbox, Kingdoms, they just showed generic next gen screens, which may imply that Kingdom is being developed for the xbox 360's sucessor? it's just speculation, I know, but Microsoft being so silent lately may suggest something big on the way.

Nintendo decided to aim on third party support, we all know that multiplats rely on multiple systems, so it's like that at least another company, most likely Ms, will join the new wave.

I disagree. With the recent release of Kinect, I find it kinda silly that they would undermine their userbase and potential sales in order to release a new system right after.

Furthermore, Nintendo focussing on 3rd party support doesn't necessarily equate multiplatform orientation, as 3rd parties can create exclusive games.

Nintendo decided to aim on third party support, we all know that multiplats rely on multiple systems, so it's like that at least another company, most likely Ms, will join the new wave.

Not really, all it means is nintendo's console will get the best version of multiplats performance/visual wise. Control wise is another thing.. hopefully they make all games use standard or motion controls, instead of just forcing motion onto everyone.

I agree. The issue is the segregation of the market. You have Kinect owners on 360 and Kinect owners on the 720. Now it's time to not alienate one over the other.

Ahhhh, true, true. I was thinking too close in terms of a newly announced machine. I dunno about a year or two, but it certainly could be viable.

I hope there's a nice break between the new Nintendo system and an Xbox then... I won't be able to afford both in a close timeframe :P

Seems entirely possible to me. 360 exclusive lineup is close to non-existant and thats not how a console that has at least 2-3 years of life ahead should look like. Nintendo is going for the kill right now and Microsoft is rich enough to pull its trigger right after Ninty. i think it will be 2014/2015, unless they continue to push the move & kinect 3rd party stuff.

with nintendos console rumoured to be around the same spec as the 360/PS3, no need to upgrade for a while.

I wouldn't mind but I kinda hope they are looking to better their first party more than anything

the fact that kinect can be used on a new console and also the fact that MS have no games coming (besides GoW3, Forza4) makes me think something is happening, i really cant see the 360 lasting until 2013 tbh, and the 360 pretty much paid for itself within 2-3 years of release

They can't release a new console next year... They just released kinect.. even if it is compatable with the next system its just going to make Microsoft look really bad coming out with it so quickly, because that would basically be admitting the thing they sold everyone was a waste of time.

And seeing as how completely unoriginal and shameless MS can be, I think theyll wait till Nintendo shows their hand first and then try and copy them by the time their system comes out

The 360 has been so profitable with live and kinect that it is entirely possible. It definitely couldhurt Sonyif they released a new console a good 2 years earlier than the next Sony console (if there is one) as I'm sure every teenage American boy will want one. I have been wrong before though.

And I hope the Wii2 doesn't make Sony and Microsoft want to start the next gen

and we kn ow itll be 600 bucks cause the nintenod wii 2 is 250-400 dollar range,

and how better would a 720 be i dont think it will be any better people would be b etter off with a wii 2 at least you can tell the difference in graphics quality , then you owuld with a new xbox at this point , it would only be slightly better lol ,

It doesn't have anything to do on Kinect being plugged on the new system, i think is more about MS trying to convince people about buying new hardware when they just did that a few months ago.

No. Microsoft just released Kinect last year, and the 360 still can produce quality games, so there's no need for them to put out a new system right now.

There's no way a new Xbox will be coming out this year at E3. They just released the Slim at last years E3.

2012 is when a new Xbox will be coming out, or 2013 at the latest. Mark my words.

They are past the due date. Technology is moving quicker than ever, there should be new consoles this year and next. Keep the innovation going, no stagnating long 10 year cycles.

I really hope so..I can't see this generation going on for much longer.
