I've been hearing a lot of reports of 360 failures, so I just want to get a sense of how many people's 360's have died versus how many people's are still running fine. I just want to know how safe my investment in buying one was.I think its because no one ever reports they got a working system verus those who right away posts on some forum saying their system broke.
If you could just say when you bought your 360, if it has died or is running fine, or if you've encountered other technical problems.

Not the one I'm playing. Also, I might add, all you have to do to get that little red ring around your power light is pull the audio/video cable out of the 360 while it's running something... You can bet a number of the screenshots out there are fabrications by people who want to trash the system. AfterShafterInteresting, next knew that.
I used to think people complaining about 360's breakings either were fake posts, or just people who didn't know how to care for a system. However, seeing my unit give the red lights out of the blue after over a year of working perfectly made me realize the hardware didn't have great reliability. Like I said I definatley appreciate the PS3 and Wii's hardware reliability after that.KzerXtremeBecause it has been over a year since their launch. Wait.
Where's the poll? :(-Antisocial-Polls aren't always liable. Think this, not saying all of each side would do something. 3 game systems, 2 rivals. Fake voting. With this, people with decent level ratings can be shown as more truth. Some anti-360 or so could vote even if they didn't own a system. While their could be fakes accounts, that more easy to spot.
Since this is the internet and everything you read is true... "My xboxes 3somethin died at least twenty times."ChubnastyI recognize many people's names on this board, so I can usually tell if people are telling the truth. Another questions for you guys: Does your 360 make little tiny scratches on your discs? (I think it does to mine) And does it get worse?

If you do that, you get a FULL ring of red lights. The red ring of doom is 3 red lights. It has happened to me twice.

Of course, you forget to mention that rumors of Xbox360s overheating surfaced days after launch. I agree that within this one year, we may seem some issues crop up with the PS3. But it won't be anything like the issues the Xbox360 had to work thru in its first year.
Microsoft offers an extended warranty out of the box and so do retailers. Sony DOES NOT offer an extended warranty. I was told by Sony that the consumer must buy a warranty from the store. Mine was crappy the day I bought it and was immediately returned. Take a poll a year from now when these units start failing and the noobs who didn't buy a warranty have to pay Sony to fix it. How can you buy a $600+ console w/ games and accessories but no warranty? At least Microsoft was responsible to at least offer a warranty and extend the original one to a year.terrellpakeman1) calm down. I'm just trying to find a rough gauge of the ratio of failure to success rate for SW users 2) the reason MS extended the warrantee was due to the unexpectedly high failure rate.
