A question for the people who buy Wii's and then sell them.

Why?

I really dont get this. We all know what the Wii is and its been that way since day one. Yet many people still buy the console only to sell it after a short while (im not talking about just this board but quite a few others too).

Were you expecting the situation to magically change? its pretty much been the same for 3 years now yet people are still buying it and then crying about it moments later.

I honestly doubt its because "I didnt know what was coming out for it", well firstly you wouldnt have bought it if you didnt, since your all posting on GS, im guessing you were able to do some form of online research.

Since the N64 days, Nintendo consoles have always been their successful franchises and a few 3rd party games and its been identical with the Wii.

So my question is, why did you buy a Wii knowing all of this?

well, Ive had my wii for 2 years and Im selling it now for a few reasons

1. I didnt ask for it, it was a gift

2. not too many good games

3. I want to buy a PS3 and Im kidna low on cash.

4. I already have a DS which imo is where nintendo has been releasing higher quality exclusives this gen anyways.

if that was directed at me it was because it was my first next gen console andI got it about a month after it was released so in all honesty I can say that I didnt know what it would become.

Nah, not you.. It was about the thread.. Selling it for profit is one of the biggest reasons why people sell it these days.

Yeah thats totally fine.

(not directed at you) but im expecting responses such as "didnt have X multiplat, bad graphics" etc. So pretty much, its not a PS3/360. Well if you had actually done some research, you would see its not meant to be that kind of console. So thats where im puzzled.

Anyway, cool JSR sig. A little off topc but when you get your PS3, buy Heavenly Sword, Little Big Planet, Valkyria Chronicles and Demon Soul's.

Is that still the case in many places anymore? Here in Illinois, there hasn't been a shortage since around the new year. I commonly see them at Gamespot,Wal Mart, Target, and Best Buy all the time now. I might not see a lot in any place at any given time, but I'd bet I could get a brand new one in less than an hour here, and for the past 6 months.

Mine has been in its box for about a year and a half now.I dont like the games so much or the controler.But the biggest reason its never used is Id rather play my 360,the games and Xbox live just to mention a few things I enjoy more on the 360 just dont give me the time or a reason to want to play the Wii.

I had mine day one so I really was unaware that Nintendo hated gaming. So I sold it a while ago. Got good cash for it too.-shmelo-

If you watch E3 2006 (before the Wiis release) Nintendo had Mario, Zelda, Metroid and a bunch of casual games.

Nothing has changed, Nintendo is doing what exactly what they said they were going to do e years ago. So is it just a lack of research or ridiculous expectations?

Well I've thought about selling it but haven't. If Gamestop had better trade-in profit I might have sold for at $150. Other than that, I simply don't like it anymore. I'm still deciding between 360 and PS3 though.sonicthemegaman

I've had my Wii since launch and have a few good games on it. I don't really play it that much but I would neversell any console that I have owned, just like I don't sell games. My niece and nephews use the Wii a lot (along with previous-generation consoles), and through the longest droughts of games I was doing my HSC so I had no time for games. There are also games on the horizon that I want (NSMB Wii, Galaxy 2, etc).

I brought the Wii for the traditional Nintendo franchises, and because I never expected it to be the second coming I have not been disappointed with it...

I bought the Wii in late 07, I was really curious to try it out and see what it was like for myself. I was never a fan of the Wii from the start. The idea seem really dumb to me, or just not my type of gaming. The Wii is an ok system system, but its not better than the 360 or PS3. The Wii motion plus should have been standard from the beginning. One of the few games I like on it is No more heroes, just because its very unique is the way the game plays. I dont sell my systems, so I guess thats one of the reasons I still have mine.

Meh, i kind of enjoyed SatSR. Anyway sonicthemegaman is probably the biggest sonic fan on this board so it might be huge for him. It would be like you selling your xbox and never experiencing halo again.

Well games like Heroes and Shadow were best on GC. The PS2 versions of both games were the worst. The Adventure remakes were GC exclusives to help with the fact DC flopped. The games being garbage is pretty opnionated. I still enjoy them. Actually, the Sonic hate is starting to pay off. I saw Sonic Unleashed(all versions) for $30 the other day. Great deal. Cheaper than Black Knight. As long as ST doesn't stop making Sonic games, these price cuts aren't a bad thing. SC4 is $30 now too. Wii games actually seem more expensive considering what you get for the price.

:twisted::twisted::twisted:too far man, too far. You can diss all the other sonics after heroes but heroes was a solid good game. Better than adventure 1/2, no way but it was still a very good game, at least for me anyway.

And Sonic Adventure DX and 2: Battle were not better versions of the Dreamcast games! One word: Overhyped. That's why most people sell their Wii's. I still love mine though.

I had one and sold it a couple of years ago. I hadn't used it in 6 months and I wanted a PS3 instead.

Here we had my PS3 and my friend's Wii. After the wii didn't play for 3 months in a row, he just sold it and continue to play ps3. H even bought some game on the ps3 even if he doesn't own one!
