There I said it.

Hate the Wii all you want... but all of the consoles are currently available on the market and everybody wants the Wii, it's creaming the 360 and PS3 in sales, the Wii will always be cheaper than the competition, Nintendo's big first party games have yet to be released, and there is already a lot of talk from developers that they are going to shift focus to the winning side (The Wii)only adding to the Wii's already unstoppable momentum.

The most likely scenario is that the Wii is not not only going to win the console war, but it's going to win BIG.

You are all entitled to disagree with this prediction, but given how much faster the Wii is currently outselling the competition, the odds are that this trend will continue. Thus making this prediciton more grounded in reality than the delusional fanboy pipe-dreams that are praying that the Wii is just a fad and will fall flat on it's face as no sales precedent has been set for this line of thinking.

Sure... it's a marathon, not a sprint... and there is the unlikely chance that the Wii will slow down, but given how much faster it is currently out-running the competition... it's more likely that it will simply leave them in the dust.

Yeah, or like projections by professional analysts.

Yeah. There'll be a lot of haters who think that all the Wii will ever get is shovelware, but the second it officially passes the 360's userbase, we'll likely see a shift in developer support that dwarves the one we've already seen thus far.

I don't know if Wii is going to win big. It has the highest chance now of winning this gen (for a meanwhile)because of it's MASS APPEAL in which X360 does not have it yet and Playstation brand lost it. It's all about mass appeal. Funny that some people are pointing out games for it. Games trully helps, but, if the console has mass appeal, then it's the different story. An example of great games with less mass appeal is X360. It cater to hardcores mostly but not to the MASSES (casuals, non-gamers, hardcores, independents, etc). X360 soon might get the mass appeal, but for now, it looks like they don't have it.

I think it'll have to surpass the userbase of the 360 and PS3 combined to see a shift like the one your talkin about.

Jedige why oh why do you keep making Wii-praise threads? are you that insecure about it? When it gets a decent ammount of GOOD games no doubt it will be great, but for now, its not all that.

You just make the same thread over and over and over again based off the same thing; Wii sales. We get it. We dont need you to tell us what you think about the same point five times a day.

I doubt it, because im sure Devs. know that wii has far more casuals then hardcores. Thats pretty much a fact, its part of pop culture right now. That said they will probably continue releasing crappy games till a higher power such as nintendo tells them what to do.

The wii will probably sell the most consoles because it is so cheap.A lot of will get a PS3 and a wii or a 360 and a wii but I guarantee PS3 and 360 will sell more games. There is a reason the wii is so cheap so why are the games so pricey.

Once it passes the 360, there won't really be a question of "will it surpass the 360/PS3 combined". That will only be a matter of time.

Who do you think bought more copies of GTA: casuals or hardcore?

I'll give you a hint: not hardcore.

i will have to pull out the "early days yet" card. the wii is a massive success at the mo, no doubt about it. at this rate its going to be sold out all through christmas and into next year. but its staying power is till in question imho. will attatchment ratios be good? will 3rd parties start putting in the effort? will enough 3rd party software sell to maintain interest from them? how much by, and how soon, will the liberary of games improve? will every market get enough attention or are some going to suffer? will people just slide it into a cupboard after they get bored of wii sports? how long before ninty sort out supply (god forbid there are huge supply probs around christmas)?

thats alot of questions that still need answering. i think were going to have a better picture of everything after christmas though. if wii dominates in HW and SW during the industries busiest period and it gest some major quality titles out for all markets then everything will look even better for it come jan.

TC why do you make a topic about sales every few minutes? You're annoying even the Wii supporters, I'd say. Most people with level heads (not too many on this forum) can see that the Wii has the biggest chance of winnning this gen, and that with high sales comes games, regardless of whether the individual person likes Halo better then a Mario game they've never played or not.

At the rate that the PS3 and 360 are selling, that's not too far fetched.

K, I support Nintendo and all, and I'm happy they're doing well....but just cause the sales are good doesn't mean it's the "best"...yet. Right now there's only a handful of games worth playing on the little wwhite box, where as the 360 has a healthy library, and the PS3 is gaining momentum (thanks to third party titles also released on the 360). It's just to early to say if Nintendo will win, it needs stronger third party support, more awesome esclusives like Zelda and Paper Mario, and no more !@#$ing mini-games, it's just gettting ridiculous now.

A nice pattern seen through the game history is that the console with most sales usually gets most games. 360 has most games now, and most sales. Wii is getting many games, and selling like a beast. In the end, console with most sales = generation winner = victory and profit.

Nintendo needs to make more games like Metroid, Super Mario Galaxy, and Twilight Princess, some of my casual friends already want something a little more challenging, they better have some in development and coming out in 2008 or 2009, because non gamers will turn casual and casual will turn to actual gamers.

How about a thread that convinces me that I want to own one. The Wii will pass the 360 soon and then the 360 and PS3 sales combined. Thats not enough reason for me to own one.

I'm sure a lot more cheap cars sell than Lamborghini's, but that's not going to get me to quit driving my Lamborghini and buy a cheap car.
