Is because when you pay for time you feel obliged to make the most of that time. that's how i felt when i had XBL, i felt that if i didn't use it I was throwing my money away. It is a better overall service but there was nothing that made core gaming any better than PSN.

It's a cognitive dissonance stuff. There has been research proving that people automatically feel something is better if it's more expensive no matter if it has the same quality as something cheap.

I have a feeling that this is not the case. More people use Live, likely, for the following reasons: 1. The 360 came out first, establishing a recognizable brand name earlier. 2. XBL offers more party/friend features (which is important for people who like to play online). 3. XBL is entirely unified, making accessing it easier and more intuitive (great for casual players). 4. XBL has much less problems with service interruptions, and when they occur, they are fixed within hours, rather than weeks (PSN probably lost a fair portion of it's userbase after the hacking). 5. Microsoft has integrated the service onto several other platforms, increasing potential userbase significantly. 6. Online game populations stay relatively strong for sometimes years after the game is released (Halo 3, a 2007 game still sees 2000-3000 people during peak hours). Many PSN games, even online-centric ones, die within weeks or months of launch. People pay for Live because they feel the service is worth the price of admission, even when they know Microsoft could easily make it work on ad revenue alone. inb4 cow butthurt

The 360 sells a ton more software, so I guess it's because more people are playing games in comparison to the PS3?

I like both systems equally,

I find it hilarious that people feel like they have to "like both systems equally" around here to stay neutral. I have both systems and much prefer the Xbox 360 and have no problems making that clear. Even though I own two PS3s, cows will still think I am a lem. So what's the point? That no matter what you like, the minute you disagree with a fanboy they will automatically call you a fanboy. Ironic and very telling of how delusional fanboys really are.

Why would they sell their 360's ??

I wouldnt sell mine cause I like titles such as Forza, Geow & although not on the same level Halo... Selling my 360 means I cant enjoy these games...

I think because NA players are like fanatics ... they spend on games more than any other ppl, and since MS controls this region, it looks like they have higher sales and higher Live activity.

You cows must be piss poor, I am sorry. You are talking 17 cents a day in cost. If you think people to need to justify that than you are just sad. Why the hell do you care so much anyway? Maybe it's YOU trying to justify the fact you can't afford Xbox Live.

Why do I care so much? Because it's a rip off that's why. If a sh1t company like M$ starts introducing rip off practices to the market it can become a standard and then we all have to pay for something we shouldn't be paying.

I think the fact that people rather pay for XBL than play it free on PSN with the risk of getting hacked and having their credit cards stolen just shows which service is better.

No, I'd imagine if you were compelled to use a service because you paid for it, if you had a choice you would buy games for the console that has the service..

The most popular XBL games are CoD, Halo, and Minecraft. 1 is lead developed with early DLC for 360, 1 is exclusive, and 1 is 360/PC exclusive. Games like Skyrim and Mass Effect selling more on 360 have nothing to do with XBL.

This is a fact.

Actually this is wrong, because Nintendo's online service is not connected across games. The publishers provide the servers for their games, Nintendo has nothing to do with it. There is no "Nintendo Online" for there to be people on. (At least not until Sunday ;))

You are sad. Yes, use pictures explaining why you care so much about something that you don't pay for it. Please. The first picture will be it's a rip off and the second explaining why you care since you don't pay for it is what exactly?

I realize I already hit the real reason right on the head, it's ok. Don't be ashamed or embarrassed. Just stop with your nonsense and I am sure Sony will continue to be the perfect company.

Typical cow maneuver. When owned resort to insults. lol. You cows are so pathetic it's no wonder you are viewed as the most obnoxious annoying group in the gaming community.

But yes, I will admit right now that my reading comprehension is piss poor and my education as well. Please explain again, not using any big words and very slow why you care about something you view as a rip off even though you don't pay for it. I would think by not paying for it would suffice yet you continue to trash talk it at every opportunity. It's interesting, you think it's a rip off and don't care about it yet you can't stop talking about it.

I guess you're good at denial but not so good at anything else including reading? I hope your parents didn't have to pay much for that level of education.

Typical cow maunever. When owned resort to insults. lol. You cows are so pathetic it's no wonder you are viewed as the most obniouxous annoying group in the gaming community.

Your denial is not ownage it's just denial. That you even refuse to read what I post proves you're a coward without a real argument or just an illiterate ignorant.

What am I denying? Please tell me. Am I denying that I am justifying spending 17 cents a day? Buddy, if I was worried about that I would have much bigger issues. In the real world where you have mortgage, insurance, student loans, food, clothing, gas, and many other expenses, the last thing I need to justify is that big $60 a year subscription fee. Also, you never showed me the picture like I asked. You leaving out my entire quotes is self ownage.

Just admit that you can't afford it and to try to make yourself feel better you trash talk it at every opportunity presented to you. And also admit that you are freakishly nervous that Sony will follow and charge you next generation for online which will diminish your chances of ever getting a console.

I pay for PSN+ I could afford it I just don't pay for rip offs. Again I don't pay for rip offs because they can become standard in the industry. Get that into you puny illiterate head.

The most popular XBL games are CoD, Halo, and Minecraft. 1 is lead developed with early DLC for 360, 1 is exclusive, and 1 is 360/PC exclusive. Games like Skyrim and Mass Effect selling more on 360 have nothing to do with XBL.

I don't understand where you are going with this, I merely said that it fits into his point. If you are paying for XBL you would want to use it as much as you can obviously so if you had a CHOICE between multiplats you would go with the 360 version unless there's some glaring fault or you like trophies more.

You have no proof of that. Especially when single player games like Skyrim are so popular on 360. It was in the top 5 on the charts for awhile so that means people were signed into XBL but playing single player. It completely destroys TC's point.

Is because when you pay for time you feel obliged to make the most of that time. that's how i felt when i had XBL, i felt that if i didn't use it I was throwing my money away. It is a better overall service but there was nothing that made core gaming any better than PSN.

However People(gamers) primarily pay for XBL cause otherwise they wouldnt be able to enjoy their games online...Malta_1980
If people did not think the service is worth the price, they will not pay for it. I have owned a 360 since July 2008 and upgraded my Silver account to Gold about a month and a bit ago. I got a year subscription for $40 CAD, and finally found a game (series) worth paying that amount for. I am a testament to a 360 user who proves your point completely false.
