Okay by the end of this week, I could get either a PC or a Xbox 360. I like the Xbox360 because it has better games but the PC has better graphics. I already own a Nintendo Wii and its a great party console but playing any single player game on it sucks big time. Thus now I'm choosing between the PC or Xbox360 as my primary gaming nut.Click_Clock
Simple, if you don't like RPG's much, then get a PC. Oh, and Powercharge, care to explain how just 1 game holds more players than PSN and XBL combined? You're like Sony' little helper who lies all the time.

Bash me if you want. I do believe that consoles have better RPG's than PC's. Considering that I've played classics like Baldur's Gate 2, Planescape Torment and so on. But the last good RPG that I played on a PC was KOTOR and that was a long time ago. I also consider Oblivion to be a good RPG but it didn't last for me, felt like a singleplayer MMORPG.

Well can you name console RPGs excluding JRPG that you liked? ( I agree PC doesn't have many JRPGs)
If you already have a HDTV or a good SDTV, with a decent sound system and like gaming from your couch, then get a 360. I'd personally go for the Elite.
There are a lot of PC games, but I'm finding it hard to find a lot of good ones that interest me. I like driving games and so far Dirt and GTR2 are the only ones that are ok, fortuneately they work ok with my 360 controller. FPS aren't really a problem and I'm enjoying HL2 a lot more the 2nd time through than I did the first.
The biggest problem I've had with buying a new PC is that quite a few games don't work with Vista and I've wasted quite a bit of money finding out which one don't. I still live in hope that patches will be released, but at the moment I have 3 games gathering dust.
The games I'd buy a 360 for are:
Dead Rising
Forza 2
Crackdown
GeoW
Guitar Hero 2 (must buy)
The Darkness
R6 Vegas
GRAW / GRAW2
Spliner Cell DA
Kameo
Pro Evo 6
and in the future
Halo 3
Mass Effect
PGR4 (must buy, super cars Vs Motor bikes :D )
Ace Combat 6
Blue Dragon
Trusty Bell
Assassins Creed
Bioshock
RE5
GTA IV
VF5
CoD4
etc etc
[QUOTE="SgtWhiskeyjack"]Guitar Hero 2 (must buy)

Notice how the ONLY game you gave the MUST BUY to was a PS2 port?
Says a lot about 360...and about johnny come lately's that waited 2 years + to play such an awesome game.
Just funny to me.
What can I say, it's a awesome game and I'm really enjoying it. I don't see it as a port though, after all the PS2 has GH2, that's not a port of GH is it?

Your first mistake was to not even put the PS3 in your mix.
360 - unless you find a PC @ 299.99 that will play Gears the way 360 plays Gears and also play Halo 3 in a few weeks along with Forza 2 which is already available and M.E. , Too Human, Blue Dragon ect. available in a few months.
You could get a 360 and a reasonable priced Lap Top and you have both you're business and game needs covered- then you have the best of both worlds!
So many more reasons ( games lol ) but the above reasons should have already convinced you; a 360 is in you're future lol.

Why $300?
He'll need at least $450-$460 to play Gears of War, and for a few hundred extra then he can just upgrade his existing PC.

No sir - the fact remains; 300.00 plus the game and he gets the AAA experience !If you think a 600.00 - 700.00 PC with controller is going to play Gears PC with the same level of graphics and co-op - you're fooling yourself and the TC.

He can't even save with the Core system in most situations, nor can he download content! The AAA experience would be a little blunted by the fact he can't save his game each time he plays software.
And yes, as long as you have the basics (ie, a monitor, tower, KB/M), which I assume he has, he will be able to play Gears of War, as well as the plethora of other PC AAA exclusives, for under $1000 dollars. (Especially easy since your pricing assumes no HDTV, and a sub $1000 PC can easy match the 360 on an SDTV).

Ahh the old you cant save thing lol - yeah I knew that would come but my statement is still fact; you can play but not save lol.Okay -even at 399.99 ( premium 360 ) - there is no way in hell a 400.00 PC with all that the 360 comes ( wireless controller, component cables ) with ready to play and all the DL content available will be on any level equivalent to the 360 gaming experience !
Now through in the dozens of games for 360 avail. now and in the next few months - it's a no brainer by my account - 360 for games is the way to go and a Lap Top for business needs works great all for under 1000.00 so... Just Saying.

It's just that, there are more games available on the PC, as well as several of the 360's best games.

As far as the systems go, that's a wash, could go either way, really depends on you.

I think you really have to stretch to act as though the 360 library now and into the near future is somehow out done in the same time line when compared to the PC.
Also - PC has just got Halo 2 - I'm moving on to Halo 3 - see what I mean? Same for Gears and more then likely M.E. !
The 360 games offering is not something you can put down without losing some cred. IMHO.

How so? Both this year and last, PC had more AAA and AA exclusives than the 360, not to mention multiplats were better on PC the majority of the time.

And while 360 exclusives may not come to PC for a year or two, PC has it's own exclusives (and more of them, as I've said) to fill that gap. Halo 3? Crysis and STALKER. Mass Effect? Dragon Age and Hellgate London. Halo Wars? Starcraft 2 and Company of Heroes.

Now to end this silly debate lol.Go ahead and try to play any of the games you listed on a 300.00-400.00 PC - yeah try b/c you and I both know you are not going to get the AAA experience - hell you would be lucky if the game even started up without crashing the PC lmao.

End the debate? You haven't even proven to me the 360 has a better library.
When have I said the PC would be the same price? I haven't, you just keep attacking a position I haven't taken, because it's the only way your weakened argument is going to hold up.
Yes, you need to pay a few hundred more (of course, in the long term it squares out with the cost of XBL and the inflated price of 360 software), but in return you get access to a system with a much larger and better library, which includes many of the 360's must have games. The system is also much, much more versatile than the 360, and plays any multiplat better unless the developer has screwed up a port.
Also, using "lol" and "lmao" too much makes your argument look shallow.

You have an opinion and thats okay but you are wrong !
The thread has everything to do with price and you trying to say it does'nt makes you're argument flimsy and unworkable for the question at hand - which to buy a PC or 360 is that question.
Again, I dont have to prove the 360 library is great - the games speak for themselves and many here would doubt you're candor should you repeatedly dismiss it which makes you look like a fanboy not to say you are but the appearance is there.
I repeat, none of the this gen AAA games for PC will play like AAA games on a 300-400 PC ! Should you keep trying to fight that fact then I cant take you serious.
You act like paying a " few hundred more " is nothing but it goes to the heart of the matter - is price not what is driving the Wii sales?
And using the lol, or lmao is so that someone like you does not take this all too serious as I do not - its a gaming forum - ok.

And you have yours. Mine is supported by the GameSpot review system, yours is "supported" by a bunch of non-sequitors and rambling jumps from point to point.

God, why do you keep hitting this point. I never said it would. I said you pay more for a better experience, with a larger games library, more versatility and better looking games. If your that concerned about his wallet, why don't you advise him to buy a Wii.
I'm not fighting the fact, I'm stating it's absolutely irrelevant to the nature of the debate. You've been defeated on the points of the argument, so you decide to make another one up.
