You would have to be an absolute idiot to buy a Microsoft console at launch after the RROD fiasco.

Yet we have to be grateful for the people that do buy the launch consoles because they're the pioneers of the generation that keep it going until they're worth the purchase.

Seems that most of the problems are faulty disc drives, as the vine shows. Just look at the chatter. Doesn't look good at all:

Haven't had any problems with mine yet, of course I've just barely had it on for a few minutes. PS4 has been giving me grief, however.

EDIT: Kay, so my Xbox One is actually doing the same thing, I think it's updating to be honest but I'm not sure. As for that second video -- that has me scared ****less to pop-in any games.

As beardmaster said, the video with the hanging logo is just part of the 1st boot process, i too thought it was taking a bit long but was able to hear myself navigating the menus by moving the left stick up and down while the green screen was still being displayed. Soon after you hear the menu activity it goes into the calibration screen and all is mostly well from that point. It failed to connect to wifi for 3 attempts but after 4th attempt things were smooth. Downloading KI as i type with no connection issues any more. Ima load up DR3 and hopefully all is still well. Anyhow, if the video were just 2 mins longer the guy in it had a bit more patience he would be playing his xb1 right now.

it likely isnt broke. After the update it takes a long time to boot up that first time... like 5 minutes at the logo. I thought mine was broke but alas here i am using the x1 to type this via snap while watching tv

The PS4 had many, many, many different issues. Mine worked just fine though. This appears to be the Blu-Ray drive and issues accessing the server to get the patch. I said awhile ago there would be server issues with XB1. These consoles were rushed, so of course there will be problems. I still think a lot of bias fanboys will post BS about XB1 because they hate M$ and XB1. Some of these videos will be real and other will be fake. No question about it. Why should I waste my time on here when I have PS4 and XB1 games to play? lol!! I'd be the moron then. Ciao!!
