A faulty disk drive is a common issue to any piece of electronic hardware. Not really an issue for me. Some PS4s do have some disk drive issues, as seen in the past week.

If it involved a fault with the architecture of the hardware itself, then that is when I'll start to worry.

So far, no widespread reports and issues being reported, so to me there is nothing to be worried about.

It is simply booting up. If this issue were really widespread, it would be all over the internet by now.

Just started installing a retail game and I have heard one "crunch" so far. It was very early in the install almost right away. I am about 60% in and it has been so silent since the "crunch". It sounds mechanical. Like the drive is "breaking in" and moving for the first time. Seriously so far this console is crazy quiet. As long as I don't hear the noise again I will not be worrying.

I got a little worried too when booting up after the install. I never read the instructions to anything lol. Also surprised to be able to say the voice commands have worked almost perfectly for me so far. I will have to look at the commands list sometime but so far so good. Pretty cool having Kinect recognize me and sign me in.

That's terrible. I probably should have watched the vids before my post about the crunch. Mine was nothing like that at all. I would be really mad if that happened. Mine thankfully wasn't that. Hope its not a big problem. Last thing MS needs is another faulty console.

I would give everything until Monday when Microsoft (hopefully) comes out with a statement, as far as issues with the system, how many was sold on launch day, etc.I'm still on the fence but for the first time I didn't feel the need to be an early adopter.

Didn't wait in any lines in the cold like the PS2 or did I work retail (Best Buy) like I did with the PS3 and the Xbox 360.
