It's crazy that Mario Kart 7 has sold 7.73 million copies on a 30m install base.
3D Land has 8m.
NSMB 2 has 6m.
Animal Crossing will also probably become a 8m+ seller.Â

Its a different situation. The DS was still dominating when 3DS came out. PSP was never a big factor. So when DS started dieing fans moved to 3DS because by then 3DS had loads of games.
Now the WiiU is different because its sitting right next to PS3 and Xbox 360 which are old systems and continue to outsell it. In a year Xbox 720 and PS4 will be out, so the WiiU is in trouble, unless enough Mario Fans pick up the system.
What WiiU really needs is strong new IP's and solid 3rd Party Support. Which they don't have yet, so 360 and PS3 will continue to outsell it and PS4 and Xbox 720 will rape it when they hit on power, tech and games.
I don't think Mario and a huge controller with a screen is going to help Nintendo this time around, they need more, better games and 3rd party.
Yes Wiiu is doomed, as of right now.
GAMECUBE FAILED BECAUSE IT HAD NOT MANY GOOD GAMES , a bunch of mariopartys and  1 mario game and 1 exclusive zelda game soon to be non exclusive 1 remade zelda game 1 zelda collection  1 wii port ,and 2 metroid games1 fzero 1 1080 , and bunch of mariosports titles ,meh wii  ds 3ds and wiiu have better lineupsÂ

Gamecube had loads of good games. Don't forget all the Resident evil games as well. I doubt the Wii U will match the Gamecubes library. Windwaker U is a good start which is funny as its a gamecube game.

All of Nintendo's consoles have had pretty good libraries of exclusive games, and I wouldn't expect the Wii U to be much different. By the end of its lifespan, the Wii U will have more than a dozen excellent titles.[QUOTE="mariokart64fan"]

*looks at username and post again*Jim Raynor: I'm positive I didn't hear that right.
Once Sony announces the PS4 and Microsoft the nextbox it'll definitely take a major hit and probably slump down in favor of the newer systems. Specially if those are affordable, if they're anywhere close to the leaked specs we know they're definitely more powerful.
Â
get over it, the grandmas and soccer mums have moved on...campzorNa, they are just content with their Wii's and have no interest in a new console.
I love how the tc says the big titles will drop, mario kart and smash bros.. sorry but why would I want to buy a new system everytime Nintendo releases one just to play the exact same games over and over and over. Oh cause it's now in HD? lol but its the same thing every time, on every one of their systems. Nintendo needs to come up with new IP's.Rattlesnake_8
HD and new control method and a new way to interact with people that are also playing the game so you can share your experience..without trolls.\
what more do you want in a next gen system?!

LOL if you say so.TC cracks me up how he is trying to convinces us the Wii U is a good purchase so he doesn't have to feel bad about his purchase. Two things kill the Wii U for me to the point that there is no game that could make me even take a remote interest in the Wii U. The crappy tablet controller and the crappy specs of the hardware. Nintendo doesn't makes games for me, so that only leaves third party support and we all know how crappy the third party support is. So crap controller, crap hardware, and crap third party support=no chance in hell.AmazonTreeBoaKeep in mind both Mario Kart and Super Smash have strong local multiplayer following and that the Wii U can only handle one tablet at a time... So its back at the stick waggling! Not to mention that its support is purely based around current hardware there a very high chance that if sales stay the same for the Wii U that third party ports will just stop coming when the PS4 and 720 hit.

This is a very big year for Wii U. There are a good number of very promising exclusives being released. If the sales don't turn around by the end of the year, then let the doom and gloom threads fly. But then again, there's Smash Bros. which has the power to almost single handedly keep the console up.
So they're just jamming more remakes of the same crap I got bored playing as a kid down our throats, and I'm excited why? What is that the 32nd Mario Kart? Give us something new Nintendo, no? Well then I guess there is lots of suckers out there who want the same game again and again and again.....
What Nintendo needs to do is release more casual games and market the hell out of them and lower the price to $250. Its the only way the Wii U will sell like the Wii. Seriously. I don't know why gamer's are so ignorant to the fact that game's and specifically the quality of those games(determinded by gamers) =/= Sales. Wake up guys. This is a very big year for Wii U. What do you guys think Nintendo should do to try to salvage the Wii U? I personally think they should really cater to Japanese third parties who make niche games that don't sell well enough to justify the budget necessary to make next gen games on the PS4 and 720. It seems they already have a pretty good start here with Bayonnetta 2, and if the Xenoblade sequel does well, I expect more JRPG's to follow. Forget about western 3rd parties. Those games will be a lost cause, anyway, as soon as people figure out that they can buy them for less than $10 on their steambox during Valve's Christmas and summer sales, and other sales throughout the year.PurpleMan5000
I have a feeling that is what ninty is going to do.

Its a mild success, and define "loving it" when many people here have expressed similar to me. Do you always deal in absolutes? are you going to deny that other comparable systems including its older brother DS provided ALOT more in similar time frames. I thought not.[QUOTE="Pikminmaniac"]When will that be out? 2015 probably (not even joking, given how long it took the wii version to come out) will probably still have poor online and cloned characters. This is a very big year for Wii U. Translations "I can list a number of games I won't even likely play myself as leverage for an argument" but then, I just got to look at the "top games" lists on gamespot for 3DS ... other than the suprising comeback of fire emblem, it truly is mediocre compared to other platforms, and considering I like most genres, its barely a preference issue, more of a quality issue. .... .... .... :D So wait a minute, you say "half a decade vs 2 years" ,,,, and then say "no s*it* genius when you failed to take what I said into consideration the first time.... are you ... 14? I have a feeling so. No, it really doesn't and some of that rating is boosted with remakes.... being some of the best games on the system. as I said, all you got to do is look at the current "top 3ds games" for a good laugh (with some exceptions.). and again, not preference, quality perspective.Anyway back on topic. "Also with Bayonetta 2, Rayman Legends, Lego City Undercover, Wonderful 101, Xenoblade sequel, 3D Mario, Wind Waker HD, "new" Zelda, Mario Kart Wii U, Pikmin 3 and whatever RETRO STUDIOS is working on.... which you can bet is either METROID OR DONKEY KONG. How can any gamer look at that list and think, "meh, who cares"." Sounds like a good list, similar to that of the PC lists... only alot smaller, and you just know how those games wont appear for the next 2 years. for a £300 system, with limited functionality in many other areas. that is not really acceptable.MBirdy88
I do agree with the fact that Ninty kind of left the Wii to rot inexplicably without a good burial, and that they didn't take that time to fix everything up nor get into developing things quicker and get more flagship third party, but you never know with them. They tend to surprise on a ton of things they do.
I'm betting those announces are far from the stuff that will surprise us from them over the years.
