Check this out: PlayStation 'Home'! Is an achievement system coming to the PS3? Not exactly. Sony is at least giving PS3 owners a little more incentive to complete the games. Sony will soon be mandating that accomplishments be implemented into games for the PS3. While it does not match up to what XBL has going for it (some like that and some don't), this is definitely a step in the right direction for Sony.

I think that's the smartest thing for them to do right now in order to catch up. Then they can start worrying about originality. Did you hear that Sony's and Immersion's problems have been patched up? It sounds like Sony might put rumble back into their controller due to pier pressure (or at least do something with rumble). the motion sensing, dont give me that whole MS did it first cause that was some minor pheripheral that didnt even work rigth, nintendo was the first one to actualy put some tougth into it

Playstation home is Mii and Achievments put together to make somthing better. Ideas are always stolen and improved on, thats how it goes. I could say that Microsoft copied Sony cuz they made a gaming console.

QFT. Everyone copies something to some extent and changes it a little bit to make it their own. In Sony's case, it is the compilation of achievements and Mii. This is still in rumor stage, but I hope to see it happen. It will only challenge others to come up with something greater, and it will help the overall gaming community.

It doesn't matter if Nintendo got it right, they took the idea from that first controller. How is that different then Sony taking the ideas of achievements (Which have been on PC games for years) and virtual avatars (Hello Sims Online) and making a better system? You're playing favorites because you think Nintendo made a cool controller and brought motion sensing forward into the mainstream. Everyone copies, that's how it goes.

Its why I don't want a PS3. Having a Wii and 360 kind of makes a PS3 moot, since they don't really bring anything new to the table outside of some exclusive games.

While I don't approve stealing the ideas of other companies, I hope for every PS fan they'll like it.
Now I think that Microsoft and Nintendo are in it's right to steal something from Sony.
But not this gen... there is nothing to steal :(

If they were, Sony will call them accomplishments. It mentions accomplishments in the article. I don't see how someone can copyright achievements though.

Unfortunately, their "Achievement" system will never reach microsofts's standards, as the games already out won't have them. It's sort of like the late hard drive for the ps2.

i like how everyone is jumping the gun and saying that sony is copying. they did not announce anything yet, it's all a rumor as of yet...

and as far as copying goes,, guys,, i said it before and let me say it again... did anyone called MS copying when they used 1080p (although they said before it was not needed)? and now using hdmi and bigger HD (still a rumor but so is sonys stuff so far)?

did anyone called N copying when they finally decide to use DVDs instead of their stupid other previous stuff??

you mean like MS is doing with the zephyr ? microsoft didnt even create achievements anyways, if any of you fanboys had ever played madden you'd know they been doing madden challenge for years and it even has the same structure.

that was almost more so a joystick, sony made dual anolog, everyone copied. they made built in rumble, everyone fallowed. they made dvd the standard for games, everyone copied. they made backwards compatible and it was reliable, everyone tried to copy ;)

you are one lost fanboy :lol: so just because they have an excuse for it all of a sudden they arent copying ? zephyr added hdmi only cus sony has it and thats a fact, they've been saying it wasnt need for months now. just like they did with 1080p and they added that because of sony too. and also they been saying 20GB is more than enough space, even the iptv guys i saw the interview said you dont need more than 20GB ever for iptv, yet zephyr is suppose to have 120GB. they even painted the damn thing black to look like ps3. if you dont think zephyr exists to counter the ps3 and if you cant admit they copied from sony then you are just a plain lost fanboy... that has been owned

that was almost more so a joystick, sony made dual anolog, everyone copied. they made built in rumble, everyone fallowed. they made dvd the standard for games, everyone copied. they made backwards compatible and it was reliable, everyone tried to copy ;)

Dual analogue - I'll give you that one. Built in rumble - just ripping off rumble from Nintendo :| Backwards compatibility - Gameboy Color - Gameboy did it first. DVD - that's just a storage format :| That's like saying PS2 stole that from movie players :| Weak.

:| HD movies are huge, which is why they have a bigger hard drive. HDMI is going to be needed for HD movies because of coding against pirating, this has been known forever :| And calling it a copy because it's the same colour as PS3? :lol: That is so weak. So who's the lost fanboy? Get off of me.

those were just off the top of my head... hmm i dont remember nintendo making a built in rumble in ps2 days, they made an add-on rumble pack. since when was gameboy a home console ? oh thats right its not, ps2 wasnt competing with gameboy it was competing with GC and xbox. and they were the first to use dvd and MS copied they still use it to this day, they couldve just used a new or different format, nintendo did. now sony uses blu-ray and since hd-dvd has been flopping MS is considering making a blu-ray add on and screwing over all those hd-dvd adopters.

typical owned lemming, ignore verything else and only talk about what you can try to refute :lol: in the interview with the MS guys they were watching iptv on a normal xbox360 and using all the features, they said you dont need a bigger hd can you not understand that ? and that doesnt change the fact that they copied the bigger HDD from sony, you are going totally off subject. and that pirating coding hasnt even been ebnabled and thats for hd-movies on disc like hd-dvd and blu-ray, movies studios havent enabled it as of yet and arent suppose to for a couple years. they did all this stuff to counter sony, they couldve made the zephyr any color in a crayola box but they chose black lol, thats funny.

You do realise that Basically M$ is trying to say you should have taken the SONY path with their 360.

ooo, ooo, DVD is enough but here's a HD DVD addon, ooo, ooo, ooo 20Gb is way more than enough, but Zephr needs 120GB, oo, ooo 1080P isn't possible, but here's an update so you can get it, HDMI isn't need, Only Zephr does.

Yeap, M$ doesn't copy squat

Damn they only thing missing is the second analog stick, even the same colour coding is there
