N64.

sony made an analog stick before nintendo, along with a few other companys

N64.

Actually, Sony's Flightstick analog controller came out before the N64, and it was dual analog. Also, using disks instead of cartridges... The Sega Saturn was the first one to come out using disks in Nov. 1994, but Sony thought of it first and began developing the technology along with Philips back in 1986 (the PSone was released in Japan Dec. 1994). Disks really got the 5th generation booming.

kinda like ms and hd support, media features,dual analog joysticks,upright consoles, console cameras,rumored hdmi support, and next gen disk format support in consoles etc right? stop....just stop

the 360 was always going to have HD support, MS were into media with pc's way before consoles got in there and just sdded this to 360, thats not a copy of sony, nintendo invented analogue sticks so if anyone get credit for that its them, then sony copied just like they are copying analogue triggers from xbox 1, sticks are now an industry standard and have to be included, upright consoles, what like a pc tower, they went upright years before consoles so whos to say that wasnt sonys inspiration, pc's had camera's years ago and xbox 360 expands on having it for games, hdmi is still a rumor but thats not sony's invention anyway, and the next gen format war has more to do with blu ray than gaming, get of your high horse and realise everyone copies each others ideas and sony are probably the biggest culprit of it.

Who cares if they copy,as long as what they copy is worth it then why shouldn't they do it?

I think all this new info on PSN 'home' is great news,as the ps3 really needs to compete with the 360 in the online arena and adding achievements to all ps3 games is a great way too start.

Where do you get that Nintendo invented analog sticks? Like I said above, Sony came out with the Flightstick before Nintendo came out with the N64. The flightstick was a precursor to the Dual Shock. The N64 didn't have analog sticks; it had an analog stick.

I agree that MS did not copy HD from Sony, but I don't think your point is very strong since Microsoft does not make PCs. They make the software. Speaking of software, MS has a good amount of games coming this year. I think I counted 11 games coming from Microsoft this year (first party) for the 360, 12 from Nintendo for the Wii, and 14 from Sony for the PS3. I just think MS added HD because HD is becoming popular, and who's to blame them? Over 1 in 6 homes in the US have an HDTV. And I think the number is around 1 in 20 homes have 1080p.

Everyone "copies" each others' ideas in every single industry in some way or another.

Agreed, but i stand by my MS/pc argument, they may not actually manufacter pc's but you cant argue the fact that MS has been involved with pc's since they began, they make software, yes, media software is included so i'm not open to the fact sony got there first with that one, and MS added a proper HDD to a console first, although again the original idea was not theirs i know. HDTV is here to stay and will eventually be the norm so to keep on top of the game both consoles had to go with HD, but by the time 1080p becomes more the standard the next xbox will be released so im not worried about that, in europe where i am a 1080p set @50" or more is too expensive for most and will be for a while to come yet. Any way 1080p isnt that important to me, i have a 720p native panasonic plasma @ 42" and it looks amazing, 1080p is only really worth the extra cost above 42" and resolution isnt the most important factor in picture quality. Back on topic though, i doesnt bother me if people copy each other because they tend to only copy things that are really successful and therfore, they are good things to have, we win.

they copied nintendo= with wii-mote and now mii avators, xbox360= achievement points, EA"s live and maddan home setup when you earn points in game. sony stealing from games too. no ideas of there own

Don't you mean 'incentive'?

You're probably right. It takes real determination for me to finish some games, thus I used initiative. I'm glad Sony is helping out with that. The incentive you get is from Sony giving you something in return. I'll change it in an edit. Isn't English a funny language?

you are one lost fanboy :lol: so just because they have an excuse for it all of a sudden they arent copying ? zephyr added hdmi only cus sony has it and thats a fact, they've been saying it wasnt need for months now. just like they did with 1080p and they added that because of sony too. and also they been saying 20GB is more than enough space, even the iptv guys i saw the interview said you dont need more than 20GB ever for iptv, yet zephyr is suppose to have 120GB. they even painted the damn thing black to look like ps3. if you dont think zephyr exists to counter the ps3 and if you cant admit they copied from sony then you are just a plain lost fanboy... that has been owned

:| HD movies are huge, which is why they have a bigger hard drive. HDMI is going to be needed for HD movies because of coding against pirating, this has been known forever :| And calling it a copy because it's the same colour as PS3? :lol: That is so weak. So who's the lost fanboy? Get off of me.

They added 1080p for movie playback not games, it was neccessary to cater for HD films, and sony didnt invent hdmi so how do you work out ms are copying that, again its just being added because of a new function of the 360 (maybe). Xbox one was black and sony didnt invent the colour, devs have had black 360's since before the black ps3 came out anyway. Everyone copies of everyone and that is a fact, no one can sit there and try and convince me that their chosen console/manufacterer doesnt have copied features in it, ps3 is copying analogue triggers from xbox1, but so what, why does it matter anyway.

It is sad that they would improve their product for their own customers. What heartless, soulless {insert dirty words of your choice here} . I don't know how they sleep at night.
