This user (called Sticks54) said it better than I could...

"Millions of Infinity Ward fans, not 'Activision.' I seriously doubt anyone gives two[craps] about anything that happens or may happen to Activision. They're a terrible company that milks their customers while providing sub standard sequals that really aren't needed. (*Ahem* I'm speaking to you Guitar Hero, Tony Hawk, and now Call of Duty.) It sounds a little too coincidental that Jason West and Vince Zampella were fired right before they were to be paid. An image of the Joker killing off the clowns that helped him rob the bank in Batman comes to mind. Unfortunately West and Zampella were the guys behind the clown masks."

Didnt the devs from IW were screwed by EA too??? Sad.They need to work with Guerilla Games and have some actual freedom (under SCEA).

My guess is that the suit will be settled out of court, a couple of more IW guys will leave in disgust in honor of their ex-bosses, and along with a few more guys from various places another developer will be born.

Activision is biting the hand that fed them. Without COD all they have is WoW to keep them afloat.

Kotick himself said that they like to make a "deep depression" for their employees. Thats just sickening.

It will be interesting to see how this all rolls out, will Activison get burned terribly for this misdeed? Will new evidence to actually justify this act come to light? Will the IW team take this sitting in fear of their jobs in a economic regression or will they stand up and join their former boss's and start anew? Will any other developers speak out at this? I can see Blizzard being able to push some weight considering they are probably a massive percentage of Activisions profits at this point in time. It's possible after tasting some of that lovely WoW money, is what sparked Activision to attempt to pull the "Pay to play" card on IW...and IW spat in their faces at the idea. Enraged poorly guided CEO's decided to pend a invasive "Investigation" to find grounds, any grounds to remove these two defiant thorns from the IW team...and it blew up in their faces.

IW is going to be gutted by a mass exodus. Happened when these guys left the medal of honor franchise, and it'll likely happen here too.

they'd be better in justifying them selves by revealing WHY they were fired every thing they've done so far has shown them to be the bad guys nothing they have done seems right and justified it seems like they are covering it up and trying to get them out of there hoping it disapears.

They had to have done SOMETHING, even if they "trapped" these guys it really sounds like they probably were in the wrong somehow, not saying Activison were probably 100% in the right either, though they probably think they are.

Creative freedom? Last Guardian, Little Big Planet, Heavy Rain, Uncharted, Resistance, Sly Cooper, ring a bell? Sony lets their developers pretty much make the games they want.

Heavy Rain wasnt even supposed to be a game until people wanted something new and cool.

LBP isnt bad (especailly according to Metacritic)

LG and Sly added to the mix is a lot of games that are creative that came from SCEA.

This. Everyone is quick to start claiming this and that but in the end we just dont know enough from both sides. Are the royalties these two take in (mind you they are two of many people involved) really worth not having them on the next project, worth the risk of having them talk or any other number of issues. .. Maybe they did get fired over money. But its just as probable that they did something that goes against their contracts resulting in this action. For all we know they could have been doing lines, pounding mickeys and trying to sandwhich the CEO's wife during the christmas party...

It's amazing how desperately some of you want these guys to win, despite the fact you know NOTHING about working at Activision (or any other game company). I don't know who's right because I wasn't there and I can't see their contracts. My gut feeling is that Activision did rightfully fire them because their lawsuit makes no sense- they're saying that the investigation was a pretext to fire them, but if they hadn't done the investigation and fired them, then they'd whine that there was no investigation and they had no chance to defend themselves.

We do know that last month they shut one studio, Luxoflex, and stripped employees from radical and neversoft. That's a lot of ppl out of a job from the company that's milked tony hawk, cod and guitar hero over the past year or 10.

No, we don't know all the facts in this case, but we don't want to. Activision have been acting like dogs and we just wanna see em get a kick in the nads in any manner.

I've seen all your posts. You are a serious 360 fanboy.

What freedom? Are you telling me SCEA is just as bad as M$ when it comes to treating First-party developers?

As in matter of fact SCEA treats their developers the best allowing developers to create new challenges and gives them money for it (Ex. Heavy Rain).

Also Sony doesn't rush developers, I think we all know that by now (Ex. Gran Turismo 5). And another example is the action/adventure/platformer trio Insomniac, Naughty Dog, and Sucker Punch, Rare would no doubt be better off with Sony.

Have I said enough?

Not saying you're wrong but you have no idea what goes on behind the scenes with these developers and Sony. Just because there APPEARS to be this sort of freedom they enjoy we really have no idea what kind of say, pressure, deadlines, money, and so forth Sony puts on these developers and how much creative control they actually are allowed.

Creative control? What else would they need? I don't see Rare at all coming out saying it's been oh so wonderful working with M$, Insomniac, Sucker Punch, Naughty Dog, all come out saying they indeed love working with Sony and provides them with whatever they need.

How about another example? Why did Sony give Geurilla a mega budget and help to work with for Killzone 2 when Killzone 1 bombed to hell and back?

It had decent sales but if it wasn't for Sony, GG would have just been left in the cold. Almost everyone can agree that the first one was a disastor. Sony could have just scrapped it up and made another IP shooter.

not saying alot..... Satan treats his Demons better than Activision treats their employees/customers.

I absolutely expect to see a new dev. appear in the next couple years.... Call of Duty is done my friends... mark my words, its entered Medal of Honor territory. I'd love to see most of Infinity Ward just up and walk out, leaving CoD to Activision to destroy and mangle.... and see the devs break free and create something new and great for their fans.

on the matter of people saying bout LBP its well known Sony left them to their own devices after it was pitched to them :P

But im surprised IW staff havent started an exodus tbh after 2015 its like they are some kind of dev studio pheonix xD.
