Killzone 2 was in development for 4 years :D
Most pubs would rush the game out after 1 or 2 years in development to face the wolves.

on the matter of people saying bout LBP its well known Sony left them to their own devices after it was pitched to them :P
But im surprised IW staff havent started an exodus tbh after 2015 its like they are some kind of dev studio pheonix xD.

well i'm sure there's still a lot of money to be made in COD, easy paycheck and all that is hard to walk away from
that said i'm sure the other higher ups might walk away if their new bosses are horrible to work under and are there only to make sure they pump games out quickly
either way tho, this was a horrible way to manage a studio long-term
i mean how many more quality games can they squeeze out of a leaderless studio like that?

I might have cared about what's happening at IW a year ago, but after the way the screwed up PC community with MW2 and a way it was done, I have zero sympathy for them
Blazerdt47
Have you ever thought that maybe Activision had something to do with that decision and not just IW?
Starcraft II lost LAN, that's not a good idea
I just wish Infinity Ward handled the series better to begin with. After the first game and its expansion, the series went downhill very quickly.
I'm pretty sure that even EA treats their employees better than Activision.Sony seems to treat their developers alot better than Activision does, although I can't imagine it being very difficult

I agre... Heavy Rain sure won't make it to the market if Activision is the publisher...
lol they woula tried to make it "heavy metal rain" so u can play to a death model soundtrack with a guitar controller

we wont even mention the 4-5 years 4 gt5Really, you see no sympathy in these people losing their franchise, and their jobs. Just because you didn't get the game you wanted? That's humble of you. :|I might have cared about what's happening at IW a year ago, but after the way the screwed up PC community with MW2 and a way it was done, I have zero sympathy for them

its amazing how quick everyone flips to another side of the coin, since now it seems everyone is worried about infinity ward being abused when like a few hours ago they were maybe the most hated, casual, glitchy developer out there

Everyone is quick to start claiming this and that but in the end we just dont know enough from both sides. Are the royalties these two take in (mind you they are two of many people involved) really worth not having them on the next project, worth the risk of having them talk or any other number of issues. .. Maybe they did get fired over money. But its just as probable that they did something that goes against their contracts resulting in this action. For all we know they could have been doing lines, pounding mickeys and trying to sandwhich the CEO's wife during the christmas party...
This.
I find it interesting that "we haven't been paid royalties yet" leaks out all over the net then they turn around in their suit and mention that they their payment schedule doesn't even start until March 31st. That's a shady move to paint their previous employers in a bad light imo and brings their credibility into question. Sounds like they wanted their paychecks early, Activision sticks to company policy and payment schedules so they try to stir up a huge rumor because of it.
Also, these guys went on record and called an Activision employees a "super douche."You also have the whole Fight Against Grenade Spam thing as well. They aren't exactly model employees, patron saints, or little red riding hood terrorized by a big bad Bobby Kotick that some people are painting them as by default.
Not to say that Activision is little red riding hood being terrorized by big bad IW founders, but I don't think the general reaction from gamers has been a bit lopsided for no real reason other than
... we don't know all the facts in this case, but we don't want to. Activision have been acting like dogs and we just wanna see em get a kick in the nads in any manner.Phacet

Yeah, i was dissapointed with the game, it's fun, but it didn't really live up to my expectations. ut it's good. But these people just being pricks about this.Activision is biting the hand that fed them. Without COD all they have is WoW to keep them afloat.Parasomniac
Well look at it this way. IW was their top cash cow. They wouldn't let them go if they didn't went really overboard.
Revan_911
activision funded quake 2 i cant say i hate them.yoyofroyoyoyo
Can I just bring up a quote that the CEO of Activision said a while ago? "A few years ago we decided to take away the fun from making games"
Yeah....GG would actually have a game that ACTUALLY played great to go along with the graphics. IMHO, Killzone2 plays like garbage. The PS3 controller doesn't help the horribly simulated "weighty" feel GG tried to implement.IW + GG would be insane. Just think what they could create.

Wait what? "Anonymous sources close to the situation" reported that Activision hadn't paid any royalties yet. Zampella and West claim the same thing in their suit. What is the problem exactly? The point Z&W is trying to make is that Activision fired them to evade paying them anything. And you're trying to spin that into them being shady and greedy. Just weird.
Also, these guys went on record and called an Activision employees a "super douche."YSenor_Kami

You seem just as eager to jump to conclusions.
What West and Zampella did do is publically vent their frustrations with Activision.
Do you really think IW employees are going to move to the Netherlands?IW + GG would be insane. Just think what they could create.

imo the best thing that could happen to these guys right now is they either a start up there own development team and create a franchise about modern day call of duties (as they retain the rights to that if I am correct which I thought I read on giantbomb that they were)
or b. they should simply make an offer to either microsoft SCEA or EA and help develop halo, killzone or battlefield as that seems to be the genreof shootersthat they work the best with.
