just from the beta a can confirm the game will be AAA and 9.7-I have seen some real nice physics like when you die in the river on valhala your guns float down river for a bit,and all the new gadgets and gameplay, yes the graphics could use some polish,ALOT of polish...but I am playing in HD and I see the promise...so casey that is why Halo 3THEKING1337

 It will sell a lot because 360 folk would buy 5 million red bricks with 'Halo' painted on then if placed on the shelf in a game store.

I can't see it getting 9.7 as it looks that bad.

 7 million in one week?  Anything but an acid induced hallucination suggests he's going to be disappointed on that front.  And the 9.7?  Meh, could happen, but I'm not holding my breath.

We all know the multiplayer is gonna rock. Its gonna be tuned and have greatness from the start. For some they will not like or get Halo especially the Ghost, CS or Rainbow fans. But theirs no doubt even if it aint your cup of tea (aint mine either) the game is a out-standing online game that very few games even on PC can compete with.

So from multiplayer I can see it getting top marks. Bonus marks??? I dont kno coz it isnt offering too much originality.

But the single player is the big ???

It needs a good SP to be a AAA. It cant live on the MP score of Halo 2 like last round as the originality has gone.

For me the game should be great. Bungie have a lot to prove single player wise and I think most of their work in the last few months has been about SP. While we been cracking it off to the beta etc Bungie been rolling up their sleeves on the SP mode.

I hope anyway...

It still seems as though Gears is considered the best graphical benchmark for the 360. Its possible, but pretty unlikely that it'll score a 10 in graphics now that Gears has upped the standards for the 360. And with Gears getting three 10's and two 9's for its 9.6 score, Halo 3 to out score it, would need a 10 in everything else. Thats a hell of a lofty score.

And 7 million in one week? We're looking at a 60-65% of the entire 360 userbase buying the game in one, single week. Yeah, ok.

I wouldnt be suprised at all with gamespot scores for all halo games beside halo 2 for pc. I just think its kind of unfair when games like PDZ get a better score then RFOM and RFOM had a great single player and an amazing multiplayer to go with it, and still got an 8.6 It kind of makes me think how does gamespot rate there scores by? One reason I ask this is because halo 2 had a score of 9.4, correct me if im wrong, and the single player was garbage but still ha enough to get a 9.4 score, so what does that mean, they wouldve gave it a 10 but because single player wasnt that good they gave it a 9.4? And u look at a game like RFOM that was an all around great game and is just as fun as halo 2 multiplayer if not better and has a better single player and story, then how doesnt it get atleast a 9.0? These are things that I dont get. I mean yes scores dont actually make a game but its no fun playing by gamespot rules if they are gonna always low grade other systems game scores compared to the console they favor, which is obviously the xbox 360.

Ive been playin it also and i see it getting AAA but, a 9.7 is doubtful. It will probably sell 7 million over time seeing as how halo 2, even with the short, cliffhanger story sold 7.8 million.

The single player would have to awful to keep this game from getting AAA.  Everything about the muliplayer BETA is near perfect.  graphics could use some imrpovemnet, but we all know it takes more than a pretty game to qualify for AAA. 

I love the way I can quickly turn on the 360, launch the demo and get into a multiplayer game.  Sometimes I can do it quicker than I could even cancel out of a Rainbow6:vega game.

All signs so far point to a flop in this game.

Because when  Beta can have better online matchmaking and gameplay than any other online game on a console--it deserves god like status.

the ONLINE multiplayer BETA allready has MUCH MUCH MUCH better graphics than Halo2.

there is still lot's of room for improvement though. but butter smooth gameplay is most important. and it's lag free (although the man kanon has some issues once in a while,....)

 Not when there aren't many places to hide.  If you don't move you'll get clipped.  So it's more running hoping you run into someone from behind or in a gun fight.  But you beter be ready to return fire as there are other's running into you as well.

longevity- 10

the only thing which I think is debatable is longevity, depending on how many MP maps the game ships whith, and how linear the campaign is. There's no doubt it'll be massive, just how long?

You must not be very good then.  I often kill a couple people (now that I'm getting better) and then sneak away to recharge the shield.  But yeah, when I was playing poorly I thought like you did as well.

My problem now is I can't snipe worth a rip.  I need some help with that, but other than that I'm doing good.

While his sale predictions are insane, i actually do agree that this could be the best Halo ever. And it's not just fanboy ramblings. Halo 1 was a success because of the amazing storyline, amazing single player and amazing multiplayer making so many people get together for LAN parties. Halo 2 was amazingly successful because it had fun single player, a continuation of the storyline and incredible multiplayer. It wasn't AS successful because the storyline was an empire-strkes-back esque thing where no questions are answered, and there wasn't really any form of ending at all. It also wasn't as successful because the single player, while definately great, wasn't as good as the original.

 Bungie put that down to having to cut so many cinematics and generally taking too long in the planning and being left with no time to actually make the game.

This time there are no such limits. They've had all the time they need, as Frankie has said the the weekly updates. Things are much more relaxed in bungie studios.

And from the beta, the multiplayer is the best yet. It takes all of the great additions of Halo 2, adds some more, and goes back to that original Halo awesomeness of shooting, melee and grenades balanced between duel-wielding.

It's the only game i'd ever say might be capable of a 9.7

i think it could get a 9.7 being a average that should have gotten a 7 or low 8 dident stop the others from selling like crazy and getting good scores
