Lol @ concole peasant battle.
Oblivion with mods. Don't forget to pick up your jaw later on from the floor.

Consolites always claimed that Crysis was nothing but graphics and that it had terrible gameplay. Clearly not having played the game.
Well, exactly that can be said for Crysis 2, while the game may have pretty graphics, it's just so forgettable.jun_aka_pekto
How one regards gameplay is so much is so much in the eye of the beholder. What would good gameplay mean to you and give examples.
I didn't mean to say that crysis 2 has bad gameplay, because it hasn't. It's just that the whole experience is incredibly forgettable. It tried to be too much like other games and in doing that it feels too much like those other games and those games pull of the gameplay/story/characters better. Far Cry and Crysis tried to be their own game, sure they may not have succeeded in every part (mutant/alien sections were pretty boring) but they still stand out as great games.
Crysis 2 may be graphics king, but people will have forgotten about this game within a year.

Isnt the point of the thread to say which of the games listed you think looks the best though? Not weather people will remember them in a years time. I do get what youre saying though.
Er yes it does, don't be such a pathetic troll when you didn't even play the game. In fact the sun shaft is much more advanced in UC3 it's actually true volumetric lighting which casts both the light shaft and volumetric shadows, unlike that cheap 2d post processing effect used in Gears3's. And lighting is the LAST thing you wanna compare gears3 to uc3 with, the latter has true HDR, deferred lighting, true volumetric lighting and baked GI. I hate kids these days trying to act like they know everything when they absolutely have no clues about what they're saying. That screenshot is a bullshot. You can easily tell it was rendered at a much higher resolution then downsampled.gpuking

I neglected Doom 3 after BF2 came out. I'm surprised how good it still looks when maxed out.
R4gn4r0k
Yeah, up the resolution of the textures, throw in some better lighting and you got a current gen game.

It's probably because I skipped every FPS following BF2 and took a break starting from back in 2006 until 2009. So, "generic" FPS gameplay now seems fresh to me again. You're probably right I'll tire of the game. I just finally got tired of Warhead. Crysis 2 should be following eventually. Not right now, though.

You are right, Battlefield 3 is graphics king.
Dirt 3 is the runner-up.

Wow those textures look amazing.
But the lighting is a bit off though, his hand is as bright as the sun :P

How are you enjoying Bulletstorm ?
I like that screen.Heres some Crysis 2 screens, hi rex texture pack, DX11 max settings. I think it could be graphics king after all! Again I dont know why Gamespot wont let me post more then 1 screen at a time so sorry about multiple posts.

Battlefield 3 > The Witcher 2 > Batman Arkham City > Metro 2033 > Crysis Warhead = Crysis > Sonic Generations > Total War Shogun 2 > Serious Sam 3: BFE > Deus Ex: Human Revolution > Bulletstorm > Skyrim > Skyward Sword > Super Mario Galaxy > that crap I took last night (it was pretty epic) > Crysis 2.
That part made me lol so hard.:lol:Battlefield 3 > The Witcher 2 > Batman Arkham City > Metro 2033 > Crysis Warhead = Crysis > Sonic Generations > Total War Shogun 2 > Serious Sam 3: BFE > Deus Ex: Human Revolution > Bulletstorm > Skyrim > Skyward Sword > Super Mario Galaxy >that crap I took last night (it was pretty epic) > Crysis 2.

Hate more? BF3 and Crysis 2 can both be argued forever which is the best.
I thought Crysis 2 looked incredibly inconsistent. Even with the high res texture pack many textures are incredibly pixelated and ugly.
the BF 3 campaign looks so amazing in some parts, the parking garage in "comrades" and the beginning of the jet mission (forget the name) were just stunning. It gets my vote.
Witcher 2 also looks really incredible overall, since it has very strong technical graphics and excellent art direction.

How are you enjoying Bulletstorm ?
Bulletstorm is the most linear game I've ever played right down to the rail sequences. But, you know what? I'm enjoying it. Unlike some, I love the crass dialogue. Even I need to take a break from more complex games from time to time.
Tank battle was also impressive.I thought Crysis 2 looked incredibly inconsistent. Even with the high res texture pack many textures are incredibly pixelated and ugly.

must of been taco bell :P
I guess it's the best graphically, but it performs like crap for me. With vsync it usually makes my FPS 25 everything maxed out lol. Roughly 35-40 with it off but tears up.
I just finished AC:R and that game is very underrated graphically and optimized pretty well considering it's an Ubi game :P

You wouldn't believe the amount of detail that was in that thing
The Witcher 2 for me.
A perfect combination of technical prowess and great artstyle. The game looks gorgeous.

I really hate the way Crysis 2 looks. So yeah I will hate more.
If you own it, try modding it. It really made a night and day difference for me.
I've tried Blackfire and MalDO textures. Only made it look worse IMO. I've given up on the game until some sweet mods/levels come around, and until someone puts back in the infinitely better Crysis 1 suit controls.

I don't like blackfire either, but you should try the maldo 3.0 mod (if you only used one of the older releases), it's sort of like a light version of the stalker complete mods, requires the dx11 patch and improves nearly every aspect of the game imo.
Shogun 2 and Dirt 3 seem to get neglected in the comparisons a lot, even though both are competitors for king.ferret-gamerVery good call with Shogun 2. I finally installed it and the game looks outstanding. Gets overlooked in GOTY talk too. I don't care much for awards like that. It's just a hype machine. Doubt The Witcher 2 or Shogun 2 get even nominated for GOTY here or "technical graphics".

I think dirt2 looks better tbh. The sky looks like a bad gif or something in dirt3 and I can't stand the ugly tepia filter on everything.
Uncharted 3 looks better than that game, let alone PC exclusives. The lighting alone in Uncharted games will always keep them a step below Gears of War IMO...[QUOTE="XBOXSTRONG"]Gears 3 actually is, it looks better than most PC exclusivesCrysis3Soldier

Skyrim. Has good physics
ChubbyGuy40
Oh man, you CANNOT be serious!
When the bugs doesn't ruin it has very good physics: you shoot an arrow to a sentinel and the corpse falls in a very credible way, you fight inside a room and all the bottles, books and furniture ends spread away, you drop a potion from the peak of a muntain and you can see the glass rolling over the side of the mountain, the river waters has downstream drag... so yes, I think that overall has a very good physics despite the giants making bears to fly away in the air as rubber balls.

It already looks better than alot of current generation games. Update the textures and throw in some better lighting and it will be graphics king all over again.
