i liked KZ3, personally enjoyed it more than Crysis2 & Resistance3 and on par with MW3..
However its not better compared to BF3 & Red Orchestra2...
The single player was incredibly well made and had fantastic gameplay, the only problem was the cring worthy story that was thrown into your face far too often. It's true what reviewer's said, they made the story a bigger focus and made the story worse at the same time.
And the multiplayer was an abomination. They actually fired the multiplayer designer.
All in all it's a good game because of the single player, but it's not great. Killzone 2 stomps Killzone 3 into the ground.
I agree with the score of the game, but I think the game got WAY too much hate (at least the Single Player anyways).
Its campaign was excellent. The levels were larger, better and more smartly designed gameplaywise, and was paced perfectly. They always had you doing something different and it never felt repetitive. I sold the game like 8 months ago, but that one mission where you are in the mechs and had to destroy the other mechs was my favorite (excuse me if I explained the level wrong, Its been months since Ive even owned the game). The game was paced alot better than KZ2. Not only that, but the art direction was top notch. Hell' id even say I liked the campaign better than Uncharted 3's, and it didnt get recognised for things it did better.
My only problem was that the game was too short. It was only like 5 hours long.
KZ3 was a step backwards for the series. Not sure what the hell Guerilla Games was smoking when they made their design decisions. I find Homefront to be the most underrated shooter this year.AcidSoldner
They tried to appeal to the CoD crowd and it backfired big time. Not just the game itself but the sales too.
I'm hoping Guerrilla has learned their lesson.
No, Killzone 3 sucked.
I liked the multiplayer at first and I also liked the campaign too......but then I finished the Campaign.
It started off good, but ended horribly.
Seriously, Random Nuke out of NO WHERE? and it destroys the planet?? I don't even.
Yeah, pretty much. I remember when the Playstation Community forums were in an uproar about the changes that had been noted in trailers and gameplay videos before release. GG's community manager (motherh I believe his name was) and link to the forums continually assured the us that the changes were for the better and that we should give them a chance. In the sp frame not really I felt KZ2 was much better in that department. MP wise Its my second favorite shooter of the year with battlefield 3 being number 1.

to be honest there were some changes to gameplay itself that made me feel as a big KZ2 mp fan that KZ3 was better. It nerfed the hell of out of any launcher weapons,it got rid of god awful spawn greanades and the skill leveling system was actually fun while KZ2 skill leveling system was just a chore. Though KZ2 just beat it out in how you can get into a game and set it up. Matchmaking should be never used. I find lobby system much more better. I hope they keep most of the changes from 3 gameplay wise for the next game whenever that may be.
Is it wrong for me to say that I found it quite boring and never finished the game?Iantheone
nope not at all. Its your opinoin after all. also the it crowd is dam funny.
I am really enjoying Killzone 3 and I'm one of those that greatly prefers my 360.
I HATE saying this (which makes me petty) but I'm enjoying the story more than I did Gears 3.

Exactly this. KZ2 was a much more fun game to me. The SP was more challenging, and the MP was just all around bigger, better, and more featrue rich.
KZ3 was a downgrade in every way. GG doesn't have the juice to deliver a great game in two years. They need more time, and even then they'll fail at something.
I may have enjoyed Resistance 3's campaign a little more, but it had absolutely no replay value, which makes it infinitely worse than R2's campaign. The MP in R3 was an abomination. I think Insomniac may have been playing some kind of joke.
Modern Warfare 3 is the best shooter this year followed by Crisis 2 if you ask me. I haven't played Killzone 3 but I have no intentions of doing so, and Battlefield 3 was lame, but it'll probably win due to the large amount of hermits on Gamespot.

I disagree. Just cause you dont like the game doesint mean they lack the juice. It just means you didint like it. I had a overall more fun experiance with KZ3 mp then KZ2 and I loved KZ2 mp.

Ill proboly be getting MW3 as a gift on xmas, but im not expecting much from mp after everything i saw. I doubt it will top Battlefield 3 or KZ3 in my eyes.
KZ3 MP was one step forward one step back. Ok the control issue in KZ2 was fixed, but they also took away many features and dumbed down existing features. The Campaign was a COD on-rails copy cat with a cliff hanger ending. But KZ3 is still the Best FPS this year and I cant put the controller down
Hell no. It was as quickly forgotten as Killzone 2 was. The single player was just boring, the multiplayer was uninspired, and the whole thing was a letdown.

U Mad cause KZ3 gets more Graphical praise than your $2,000 PC

Yeah no...
Killzone 2 is considered a far superior game to KZ3 and has quite an active multiplayer community so I'm not sure where the "It was as quickly forgotten as Killzone 2" part is coming from.Hell no. I really like the game. I like it better than CoD and BF3.
The only thing I have a problem with is the botzone. Why cant it be like Killzone 1 with all the customizations, and splitscreen?
COuld have been ALOT better, but compared to the other fps games this year including battlefield, i actually wanted to go back to killzone 3

It's easy to forget a game when they haven't played it. Most of the people who talk down on the game can't even give an argument against it that isn't a generic one pulled out of another post.
KZ2 was great, but it had its flaws. Most notably, the ability to choose what region to play on made the game annoying to play online. KZ3 had the same problem, but lost many of the redeeming qualities KZ2 had. In my opinion, KZ3 was overrated on this website and on Metacritic.
BF3 has a similar problem. The lack of actual pings on the console version in favor of those stupid connection bars is annoying as hell, especially considering they aren't very sensitive. I joined an EU server and had 4/5 bars. That's about as far away as I can get. It should really be more sensitive than that.
Killzone 3, Resistance 3 (in 3d) (with sharpshooter) are the best FPS experiences this year.
MW3 is boring. BF3 is slightly better.
Thats alot of 3's.

From people who were terrible at the game and couldn't handle it, apperantly. There is quite a good userbase on the game, it just didn't hold your hand like most console shooters do these days (Killzone 2, that is).
Kz3 tried too hard to appeal to the "modern military shooter" minded people, and overall suffered for it. Trying to spee dup the gameplay was a bad move on their part (even though the controls where much better than Kz2's), and by that I mean low recoil, low player health, and a more lone-wolf feel. It was still an awesome game, and had better gun combat than any other FPS this year, imo.

I loved KZ3's campaign but I just couldnt get into the multiplayer at all. And as far as KZ2s? It was good, I liked it, but the last time I played it online it was nothing but a noob tube fest. Lame. Please Log In to post.
