Honestly, I can't see how console shooters can stay the same.
Everything, works, perfectly. I started the game and from the first firefight I actually could target and keep my reticule on the enemy while strafing fully. It was like, playing with the accuracy of the RE4:Wii controls, but... BUT ON METROID AND WHILE MOVING. I get urges to play it just to shoot at things. It's that pleasuring.
I know technically it flopped here, but since when do I let one person decide my feelings on a game. The game itself is polished to the point of blindness after long exposure in the sun. The fights feel great. (Normal difficulty could be harder, but they included a harder mode that I haven't gotten to as of late) The puzzles are still challenging and actually like, fun to see the results of. Graphics are shiny and still feel really good. (I really don't care about how my games look past being able to tell pixels apart.)
Anyway, onto the point of the thread.
Mircosoft cannot ignore this. The Wii controls are accurate to the point where non-gamers might be able to actually play well. (Assuming they can deal with strafing and pointing. This is hard for non-gamers.) I'm going to guess by 2010 Mircosoft will have to come up with a similar IR system, or something that rivals the Wii's accurate, intuitive pointing system. No amount of good gameplay can make up for knowing that there is a better control scheme on a "inferior" console. Honestly if there is a multi-platform FPS on the Wii and Xbox360, 360 owners won't have a snowballs chance in hell.
